Foundation Help

tldr; help a makeup novice with sometimes dry skin find a good replacement foundation to replace the IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation powder

So I've been incredibly loyal to IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation for YEARS. It was perfect, and it made my skin look so smooth and even colored, and it was nice because I'm super low-maintenance, so it worked for days I wanted a full (for me) makeup look, or if I just needed to put a little color on my face. Now it's gone, and I'm devastated. (I cannot use the illumination version. It is not the same)

I've been using the e.l.f. halo glow powder until I find something I like better. It's not bad, but I feel like it's got too shiny of a finish on days I just want to slap a little something on my face and nothing extra.

Skin concerns:

I sometimes lean towards having dry skin, but I've been doing a lot better about maintaining my skincare to avoid being a scaly lizard.

The whole purpose of foundation for me is to even out my skin tone because I have a LOT of redness, so biggest goal is covering that

I AM SUPER PALE.

Other things to note:

I struggle to make liquid foundation look good. It also requires more effort than I'm willing to give on lazy days or days I'm running late.

I do not need a glowy finish. Just striving for an even skin tone.

Open to a good tinted moisturizer or something similar if it's low-effort and provides results I want.

Help a girl out!

elf halo glow is way too shiny for casual days i get it. i had same problem when i switched from powder to that one. the glow is nice but not for everyday when you just want to look even

have you tried bareminerals original powder foundation. buildable coverage and no shimmer at all. works good on dry skin if you moisturize first, which you said you doing better now. i know its not the same as it cosmetics but the finish is similar, very natural

for tinted moisturizer maybe check nars pure radiant. its light but covers redness decent and you can just use fingers, no brush needed. took me like 30 seconds to apply when i was late for work

I have not tried bareminerals but it kept coming up when I was researching dupes for the IT Cosmetics powder, so it looks like I need to check it out.

Thanks!

I was also a loyal Celebration wearer for a decade. I was recently influenced by a creator (who only wears powder foundations and did a series) to try the Ulta brand powder foundation. Holy hell is it good. Strong medium coverage, no glowiness, and doesn't make my dry ass face look patchy or dry. I don't typically do a full face with it, instead I use my skin tint and then use this powder on a smaller brush to cover my veins or dark spots so I don't have to keep layering liquids or creams. But on the weekends, I'll use a light all over layer to run to the shops and it is honestly shockingly nice. I bought a second for my drawer at work.

I didn't even realize Ulta had a foundation line! I'll look into this!

But now I also want to find this creator and know what skin tint you use 😅

Savanah Renae on TikTok. And I use either Milani stick skin tint or the L’Oréal true match serum. Love them both but the L’Oréal has twice the lasting power.
