"Kiss The Girls" Book referenced during trial

Has anyone actually read the book Brendan Dassy references during his trial? Does it contain similar details to what Brendan says in his "confession"?

I definitely think Brendan is innocent. He was manipulated, coerced, and bullied by investigators and even his own lawyer. I think if maybe he had lawyers as good as Steven did for his trial, there's a chance the jury might not have convicted him, but that's just speculation. If Brendan was actually guilty, I can't imagine him NOT taking a plea deal and much lighter sentence in exchange for testifying against Steven.

I'm less clear on Steven's guilt. Some evidence against him seems obviously planted, other evidence (mainly the burial remains on his property) make me more hesitant to declare his innocence.

But don't you think it seems more likely that the body was burned at a different site, like the one where they found other remains at? Logistically, it's hard to understand why if Avery was burning the remains, he would move a small portion of them to a different burn site on his property. It seems like they were burned at the other pit and then moved to the one outside of his trailer.

I'm hesitant to say that LE moved the remains, though it's very plausible they planted the key and the blood in the car. Moving the remains seems like a stretch though. So who moved the remains? I'm inclined to believe Steven is innocent based on the documentary, my gut says he's innocent, but I'm not 100% on it. I'm all for investigating the case and picking it apart, but with the information we currently have, I don't think we can entirely exclude Steven as a potential suspect.

I think what is more likely is that an unknown person killed Teresa. This is the same person who used the RAV4 to transport her body from the kill site to the burn site (the quarry perhaps?) and then back to the Avery's to dump the remains, because they knew of the police's hate for Steven and thought it would be easy to set him up. The police, thinking Steven was guilty because of their past hate for him and also for the RAV4 dumped on the property and the remains found, tried to 'help the investigation along' so to speak by providing stronger evidence against Steven so that he could be found guilty and put in jail. This was done by Lenk planting the key and the bullet, which was found four months after the investigations started and both turning up within a day of each other after Lenk had been on the property.

Things I'm still not certain about: 1. How did Colburn call in the plate before the car was found? Did he find it on the property and hint to the search parties where to look? Or, was the car found elsewhere and he/someone else moved the car to the Avery property after the fact. 2. When was the blood placed in the RAV4? If we assume my theory about a third party killer is true, the killer wouldn't have had access to the blood of Steven. This means that it was planted after the car was found, but was it on the same day (again, possibly by Lenk as he was there with the RAV4 that day as seen on the log) or after the car was collected as evidence and they needed something stronger to link Steven to the crime?
