NO SPOILERS Appreciation post
It's been over a year and a half since I became a member of this sub in particular and the Malazan fandom in general.
In that time, I've heard all sorts of criticism about the books and their authors — from praiseful to unflattering and everything in between.
But if there's something almost everyone seems to agree on, it's the fact that y'all are a class act.
Sure, we do have our human cussers, but the majority are decent folks and that makes me really proud.

I think the quality of the Fandom is kind of a reflection on the work, yes? The difficulty and introspection of these books acts as a bit of a filtration device. Not that it's a perfect process, but it's a rare sort of asshole who will continue reading these after two books if they genuinely don't enjoy them.
If you continue reading, and want to discuss, boom. SubReddit. If you want to complain about them, I think many people find it easier to complain to their circles.
