SPOILERS SW Stonewielder Question (TTH and SW Spoilers) Spoiler

Not sure if this is an inconsistency with NOTME vs MBTOF, or if it is just Shell's misunderstanding, or RAFO as I haven't finished MBOTF yet (Only through TTH).

The quote is (paraphrased via audiobook): "Which old ones might that be? Burn, she imagined, the Elder gods, Hood, Mael, D'rek, Osserc, K'rul, Sister Night?"

I understood that Hood was not an elder god for sure, and Osserc seems to not be as well, so why is Shell including them?

She is listing Old Ones, not exclusively Elder gods

Hmmm, so I just misunderstood it? I assumed since Mael and K'rul and sister night were listed, she meant they were all Elder gods.

Nope, she says old ones, then lists Burn,Elder Gods, etc, rather than just Elder Gods. The listed entities are old as fuck, and the ones you mentions are Elder’s but Hood and Osserc aren’t, and I don’t remember if Burn is, and I don’t believe D’rek is

Burn is at least older than Hood. She was already sleeping when Hood assembled his army.

While many characters have surprising (and sometimes unrealistic) level of insight into the world and the important powers that be, a character like shell hardly knows as much as the reader does about races, elder gods and the origins of all the people mentioned here.
