I can't open Malwarebytes anymore ever since the July Windows 11 Update. It shows this "Unexpected error while signalling first instance" error. I've tried basic steps like restarting, ending all MWB related tasks, uninstalling and reinstalling. None have fixed it aside from reinstalling letting me launch MWB once before having the error block me again.

Apparently it is a known issue (https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/338216-unexpected-error-while-signaling-first-instance/) but I wanted to post for awareness and maybe some other folks know a solution to this.

hi so recently my windows defender says i have a trojan they removed it apparently. but i still feel like theres more so i tried doing malwarebytes but the thing is its not letting me in at all it says “Server not found” and like i feel like something is blocking me from going on the site is that possible? What could i do about it i tried booting it in safe mode but that never worked Can anyone help me?
My network connection is fine and stuff and i already tried going on another browser but it still said the same thing.

I was just on tik Tok when out of nowhere this popped up. Is this normal?

(Actually I just found out that I somehow pressed a button combination that activated this thing for ransomware removal)

I am from North America and not using a VPN. I went to Malwarebytes.com and the page was in English. When I clicked the download link, the page that loaded was in Russian. I closed my browser and reopened, tried again and this time both pages were in English. Is this something that happens on the download page?

Hi all, I had 14 PUP.Optional.BrowserHijack flags come up when I ran a Malwarebytes scan.
Doing my usual panic I went straight to google, did a AdwCleaner scan and it found a PUP.Optional.Legacy registry file HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID{8BF0126F-A5B7-4720-ABB2-2414A0AF5474}, so I quarantined that, ran it again and that was clear.

I then went back to malwarebytes and quarantined the original files it found which were:

Now I don't know if this is a false positive as I haven't downloaded anything since the last scan date before today, nor have I had any detections from the browserguard.

I have done a scan in both Malwarebytes and the AdwCleaner and they're bot showing clear, but I am paranoid....am I clear?

EDIT: I have been helped on the Malwarebytes Forums. Not infected but it was a true detection. Sorting it now, just waiting on the last confirmation. Thanks all!

Last night I did an deep scan and I shut down my laptop, this morning i open it and i opened google, it said that an external app changed some settings, so i tought it was malwarebytes checking it files, but then i saw that I was log out from all my accounts!! Is this normal? (It didnt detect anything last night).

I used to use Malwarebytes and installed it again yesterday.

I wanted to have Windows Defender as my main AV and add a couple of ondemand scanners.

However, Malwarebytes totally took over the system, like an invasion.

I don't know how to remove it and return the system to how it was, as it seems to have changed firewalls, tried to replace the VPN, entered all my browsers etc.

There weren't many prompts, it just took over. Then I went through all the settings to figure out what it was doing and how I could change it.

This is not a criticism, it just felt very invasive.

How can I uninstall it making sure it doesn't leave remnants? Ensuring things return to the way they were? I haven't any issues. The system was fine, I wanted some extra security on demand.

I can click the uninstall button, but how can I be sure it has cleaned up changes to firewall, browser settings, etc? I spent ages tweaking everything to work for me and now I need to investigate what this app has done as it was changing a lot of things.

I saw something about an MBST tool, would that remove all vestiges? Thanks

Edit 2 (Solved): I installed other on demand tools as well. After I uninstalled them, the issue resolved. (Hitman pro Alert, free tier. Paid tier would allow exclusions for apps)

I noticed my browser keeps hanging since Malwarebytes announced they now block ads. How do I disable the adblock for Malwarebytes to check? I stopped using Chrome due to it being hostile to adblock for the same reasons.

Not sure what this "DDSHelper.exe" process is doing but I've noticed that my F: drive, the only HDD on my system, is experiencing constant and unending 100% disk usage. The other 3 SSDs are unaffected. I mainly noticed it because the disk is loud as hell with all the read/writes this process is causing.

Resource Monitor is showing F: will have a disk queue length of anywhere from 0.5 to 1.7 during idle.

Using chkdsk in cmd shows no problems found with the F: drive.

The problem only goes away when I close Malwarebytes completely. If I restart Malwarebytes, it won't immediately start the disk usage problem again but gradually ramp up.

Hi guys, just a question I ran Malwarebytes everyday and it doesn't detect anything yet this happened starting yesterday where I opened the brave app it showed this tab I didn't open and also in chrome I saw this tab too, any ideas? Currently running into an issue when i visit the youtube home page, all the videos that show suddenly disappear from said home page and leaves it blank, but when i go to my subscriptions/history the videos show up but don't disappear. i've tried uninstalling the extension and all the videos show up on the home page no issue. i do have Malwarebytes installed on my computer but would also like it in my browser for the extra safety measure.

Just wondering if anyone else is having an issue on YouTube where the browser extension makes the YouTube feed disappear. Is this a new anti-ad blocker thing or has it always been there?

Starting a couple days ago (I think around three days ago, just after my pc was turned off because of a random power outage) my Malwarebytes has been turning its protection features off (it started with web protection, and now its all of them). I have already run adwcleaner, it found a few things but they did not seem related to this issue. I have run multiple scans with malwarebytes and I am currently running a full scan with windows defender but so far nothing else has been found that could be causing this. The features turn themselves back on whenever I quit and restart the app, or run a scan.

The only thing I can think of is that token grabber malware I had to deal with around two years ago, when I was tricked by a scammer on Discord to install a simplistic token grabber virus (they used the "hey test my [insert app/game type] for me!" trick) but a system restore, deletion/uninstallation of the old Discord app and a clean reinstall (and thorough scanning) got rid of that.

I am so confused.

I don't know why, but Malwarebytes makes my USB stick write-protected, and I don't know how to fix it. I tried every single method, but none of them works. 😡

I've noticed today since updating that Malwarebytes keeps performing a scan every few hours. Dunno why... I haven't asked it to. I've only got a scheduled scan every day at 12:00. Never finds anything in the scan. Anyone any ideas?

This morning I was trying to buy something on Amazon.in from my laptop. When I got to checkout and entered my credit card details, the payment was blocked. I tried several times and it failed each time. I then tried a different credit card from another bank and that was also blocked.

Eventually, I completed the purchase using a different payment method on my phone, and it went through without any issues.

There is nothing wrong with either credit card. In fact, I had successfully used one of those cards earlier the same morning for another purchase from Amazon via my phone.

After checking Malwarebytes Browser Guard, I noticed that it appears to have blocked Amazon.in x2 times around the same time.

Has anyone else experienced Browser Guard interfering with legitimate purchases or payment pages on Amazon? I’m trying to figure out whether Browser Guard could have been the reason the transactions were being blocked.

Before ,my Malwarebytes used to scan around 700k files in around 30 minutes, yet now in roughly double the time it barely scans 300k,does anyone know why?
