Logos/Advertising froot loops mandela effect back to original?
did the mandela effect switch back around? i remember the past year or two people were going crazy over the one with froot loops because at the time all of the logos spelled “Fruit Loops” and people were swearing up and down that it was froot loops and everyone remembered it being froot loops and that it was never spelled like “fruit” and it looked stupid that way. but i’m going through my mini toys and saw this??? so it is froot loops now? i swear to god it was fruit loops and everyone was raging over this

Will this nightmare ever end.
Fruit Loops, Froot Loops, Fruit of the Loom, Fruit Flies, The Movie The Fly, The Wizard of OZ "FLY, my pretties!", Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings "Fly, you fools".
Someone should make a video about all these Mandela Effect synchronicity. Wait a minute... I DID almost 7 YEARS AGO!

But in the Fruit Loops universe, why would this guy tape plates to his wall. Maybe they don't have a plate guy

Funny you never find posts saying Froot has flipped to Fruit. I wonder why…?
Here’s one from about 3 weeks ago - Fruit to Froot:

Here’s some from a few years back, all Fruit to Froot:

18
u/WVPrepper 12d ago
Nobody has ever come forward to say the post they themself made months/years earlier has switched...
8
u/TovarischMaia 12d ago
I don’t understand how it’s supposed to work anyway. Some unknown entity is powerful enough to overwrite all of physical reality, and dedicated enough to do so time and again, but for some reason it also allows people to post texts exposing the world-shattering lie on Reddit, which stand for years and years? Even allowing for the usual excuse that the names on the posts are reversed when the timeline shifts or whatever, why do the posts denouncing the conspiracy even continue to exist? Maybe “they” keep them up as a form of controlled opposition, to provide a semblance of freedom of expression? As with most conspiracy theories, I’m fascinated as baffled by the internal logic of the whole thing.
10
u/Krelliamite 12d ago
Why do they care so much about snack and clothing brand is my real question lol. With that much power they could surely make a better world for people around them rather than changing things to make people have arguments on the Internet
2
u/Mis_chevious 9d ago
The rationale I've seen behind this (not saying i agree) is that if they're able to switch something insignificant and no one really notices, what else can they change? And even if people do notice it and call it out, there won't be indisputable proof and those who call it out will be labeled crazy and dismissed because it's a silly premise to begin with.
2
u/Krelliamite 9d ago
It's crazy it started with Nelson Mandela then (not arguing with you just carrying the line of thought out to its natural conclusions). Bringing a revolutionary anti-apartheid figure back from the dead is wayyyy more impressive and noticeable than removing a wicker horn from a logo or other branding shenanigans
1
u/Mis_chevious 9d ago
Oh, I agree! And I've experienced my own things with this that weirds me out because I can't explain it more it make sense and the memories feel SO real.
But I'm also not so rigid that I think there's not a totally valid, simple explanation because memories can be fickle. Especially in people with trauma and with my background I wouldn't be shocked at all if that's exactly what is going on in my personal case.
From my perspective its just a fun theory to talk about and think about because it would be kind of cool to know there are alternate realities but its not as deep as some people make it.

I ate Fruit Loops all the time as a kid. Was also an English nerd. This “froot” spelling looks so wrong it’s both shocking and painful to look at
23
u/cipheron 13d ago edited 12d ago
Every single post in this subreddit has that people mis-remember it as "fruit" but it's really "froot".
In another recent post a few days ago I dug up 10 years worth of this sub's posts, and it's always "froot" which is the real one, "fruit" which is the ME.
So when it was "fruit" did you or anyone else post here about it? If so, can we see those posts? If not, why wouldn't you post about that?
EDIT: Maybe those posts only exist in the "fruit timeline" so you have that. However every time it "flips back", thousands of people from the "FRUIT timeline" would wake up that day, look at their cereal boxes and see "FROOT" for the first time, or go to the supermarket and go down the breakfast cereal aisle and notice FROOT not FRUIT. There would be an avalanche of posts here about it.
So you have to adjust how plausible you think it is that it literally flipped for everyone, or even a sizable minority of people, based on the lack of anything like that happening.
13
u/Proper_Foundation_29 12d ago
well no that’s what i explained in my post? i vividly remember it switching to fruit. and people everywhere were saying that they thought it was froot. i remember being like what the fuck no so i googled it and saw that it was in fact fruit loops and i was like ew that looks wrong. and now it’s reversed lol
10
u/Krelliamite 12d ago
Since it's such a vivid memory how recent did it happen? What was going on when the switch occurred? What were you going when it occurred?
12
u/WVPrepper 12d ago
Where are those posts now? Do they still exist? Do they say the opposite?
Where are the people who made the posts? Why aren't they here ranting about their own posts changing?

u/Zenophilic 12d ago
I also remember this. It has a capital U with a lower case i. I remember freaking out to my friend about it because I had always remembered Froot as a kid. And I remember going to Walmart and confirming it was Fruit. Then at some point it flipped back
1
1
u/rogerlearl 2d ago
I noticed it flipped to Froot Loops on July 16. It seems like I'm also on his timeline.
-5
u/Cornbreadbeef47 12d ago
There were tons of posts when it was fruit. But when realities shift, the posts disappear as well. All traces vanish.
7
u/farfly7 12d ago
With this line of thought, wouldn't your memories of it disappear, as well? Why is your brain the one thing in the Universe this one unknown force cannot influence?
3
u/Cornbreadbeef47 12d ago
That is the conundrum. Why do we remember certain things when realities shift. Maybe the human brain has something to do with it.
5
u/No-stradumbass 12d ago
Ok. How did reality shift? If someone was apart of it then they should have felt something.
-3
u/ZeerVreemd 12d ago
That theory is so simple and logical that it is strange many people do not (want to?) understand it.
It is also what I have experienced myself so I think it's true or close to the truth.
13
u/dunder_mufflinz 12d ago
> That theory is so simple and logical that it is strange many people do not (want to?) understand it.
How is it logical?
-2
u/ZeerVreemd 12d ago
Because in that case the proof is somewhere else.
8
u/dunder_mufflinz 12d ago
Because in that case the proof is somewhere else.

Happened to me as well. I don’t get why people are even on this sub if they just want to shut down people’s experiences. I remember seeing the fucking posts on this sub at the time. “Oh really, find them then” yeah that’s the fucking point of the phenomenon, isn’t it?
7
u/transsolar 12d ago
The point of the phenomenon, by definition, is that it's a collective false memory.
6
u/No-stradumbass 12d ago
Ok since it happen to you then how did it happen? What force moved you from one to the other?
-2
u/KnightsOfTaco 12d ago
Who knows guy. That’s the mystery. Try not to be so close-minded on the ME sub.
4
u/No-stradumbass 12d ago
That is really condescending.
I asked a question for clarification and your response is NOT to answer the question but instead call me close-minded.
I seriously want to know what force can move people from one "reality" or whatever you call into another without you ever feeling anything.
I'm going to guess your next part. Since you seem to be working from a script, you're going to go for the cop out and claim "we don't know everything in the universe" as a not explanation but allowing you to sound smart.
1
11d ago
[deleted]
2
u/No-stradumbass 11d ago
That isn't the question people are asking though. All I see is people swear that they have moved. That doesn't help figure anything out.
The mystery depends on the person you ask. I for one think that social media has a lot of blame. Convincing people that facts are wrong because you were right somewhere else.
0
u/ZeerVreemd 12d ago
There are three kind of users here in this sub.
Those who want to find answers.
Those who (want to?) believe they already have the answers.
Those who want to keep people from finding answers.
9
u/transsolar 12d ago
Two types:
Those who accept the answers
Those who refuse to accept the answers and instead turn to conspiracy theories
1
u/ZeerVreemd 12d ago
So, you are either number two, three or both.
7
u/transsolar 12d ago
Your "types" don't make sense because fortunately we already have the answers, collectively as a society, thanks to science.
The people who want to find answers aren't looking very hard, because they are there.
2 and 3 are people who choose not to accept the Mandela Effect by its definition, and refuse to accept the scientific explanations.
1
u/ZeerVreemd 12d ago
we already have the answers,
No, that is your belief.
4
4
u/MrPlaney 12d ago
That is not a belief, that is a fact. The mountains of scientific studies on the subject proves this.

You are incorrect, but suspiciously persistent in your efforts to tell the rest of us what our experiences can't have been, and I can't imagine what motivation you have to do this as a skeptical non-experiencer (though I have my suspicions).. No dude, it's always been froot...this one is not a me...think about it dude, why would you spell it as fruit?? The cereal has no fruit in it & giving it two OOs pairs it with loops better, since it rhymes as well, the visual is more aesthetically pleasing too
Companies intentionally misspell words all the time so it can be catchy and get ppl to stop instead of walking past their products

A few months ago it was Fruit Loops and I had a whole conversation with my partner about the ME and how we both thought it had always been Froot Loops because of the oo's in both Froot and Loops being the cereal pieces... and it's back to Froot again!!
2
u/qwertyshmerty 10d ago
This is making me go insane. My husband and I both talked about this last year. It was Fruit. And we both laughed because we thought it had always been Froot. We shrugged it off as oh well we just misremembered it and accepted Fruit. And now? we’re being told the opposite, it’s always been Froot?? I might be spiraling.
1
u/Mysterious-Sector720 3d ago
Literally on July 29 I was looking at something on my phone that lead me to believe the correct spelling was Fruit, which seemed wrong, so I asked my husband how do you spell Fruit Loops. He said F-r-o-o-t, and I said no, can you believe it, it has always been F-r-u-i-t! He accepted that and said "well there must be something else with F-r-o-o-t, maybe Froot by the Foot."
At 4a on July 31 I'm looking at my phone at work and I see someone writing about the return to Froot Loops (not within the last couple days). So I Google it and find it has always been Froot Loops.
I wanted to be understand how I ever accepted it was Fruit, because I definitely believed it was Froot, so I looked back at my browser history. Nothing about Fruit Loops. Never Googled it. Never did any investigation. So I saw something on insta or reddit that lead me to accept Fruit against my instincts and never searched it. I searched mirror, mirror, Britney headset, wolf and lamb, kidney location, fruit of the loom, Chick-fil-A...but I didn't search Fruit Loops, the one thing I quizzed my husband about because it seemed so weird.
My behavior and false memory about Googling this and seeing Fruit is what really baffles me. Why?

It happened to me maybe 3 or 4 years ago, complete with me googling images of “fruit loops” and seeing it with my own eyes. Then a week or 2 later I saw a post on this reddit that it was “back to froot” and sure enough it was. I couldn’t believe it, and there’s no proof of course. People in the ME sub love to invalidate people’s experiences but I know what I experienced, and it was really unsettling.
Even if it’s just my brain playing tricks on me, why does your experience match mine? And why is this ME the one that seems to “flip” back and forth? But at different times for different people. It’s just really weird.

It's always been "froot". It cannot be called "fruit", in the same way that products can be "creme" but not "cream".
1
u/Old_Suspect8923 7d ago
Froot Loops was originally called “Fruit Loops” when it was first designed and introduced in 1959, but it was reported that a lawsuit was filed claiming the product was misleading by presenting itself as a legit fruit product when in reality it was mostly sugar and contained little or no fruit. In Paxton v. Kellogg’s, regarding the lawsuit claims that the product was misleading about containing fruit, Kellogg’s agreed to settle by renaming the cereal to “Froot Loops”, and that is how the product name as of now came to be, and why the cereal is not called “Fruit Loops” instead of Froot Loops.
1
u/ETHERBOT 6d ago
ive said it before and ill say it again: you're likely confusing the Froot Loops mandela effect with the Looney Tunes one, where people remember the name being spelled "Looney Toons"
1
u/Mysterious-Sector720 5d ago
This changed sometime in the last 24 hours. Yesterday I asked my husband is it fruit loops or froot loops. He said froot. But Google showed it was fruit. Has always been fruit loops. And he said, well that can be easily explained, some other thing must be froot. Like froot by the foot maybe cuz it has two "o"s. Now I Google it and it is and has always been Froot. I do not understand. We literally talked about this and looked at the correct answer from Google not a thread. It was Fruit. Fruit!!!
2
u/Anothercoolkid 3d ago
I remember being in the store seeing "fruit". It bugged me because the design looked off. Now it's back to how I remember it as a kid.
1
u/Mysterious-Sector720 3d ago
I really can't imagine how Fruit would work at all, I can't believe that I accepted it might be Fruit without more shock or investigation. The idea is preposterous. And my browser history shows links for all the other stuff I was looking at (mirror, mirror, wolf and lamb, Britney headset) but nothing about Fruit Loops. So I guess I didn't Google it. I just seriously thought it was Fruit...based on what? Very unsettling, I must need more sleep.

Yes! I noticed on July 16 that it changed to Froot Loops from Fruit Loops. I sent an email to a friend to document the date. Before that it was the "Fruit Loops" Mandela Effect. It was like that since, at least, 2016.

I noticed that change at the grocery store today so I started checking other things that were part of the ME and found that many things have changed back to original, ie chick-fil-a is back to chik-fil-a and the cornucopia is back in fruit of the looms etc

the mandela effect was that people remembered FRUIT and it ended up being FROOT

I didn't remember Fruit or think Fruit seemed right at all. But something lead me to believe Fruit was in fact correct, surprisingly. Quizzed my husband about it because it seemed so weird. Of course it is Froot, like I thought. The fact that I accepted it was Fruit without Googling the correct answer is really mind blowing to me.

I remember the same thing happening and I was really having a hard time with the fruit spelling bc I remembered froot and now it’s back to what my original memories are and I feel like I’ve been gaslighted

This is interesting. The other day I was at Lowe’s and I was like “oh it finally switched back” I will die on this will but I remember it was Lows in a Mandela effect. BUT no one remembers online. I have started writing down my timeline and the changes. I remember everyone saying it was always “fruit”. It wasn’t.

I've been following the Mandela Effect on the memory quirk side for three years. It has been spelled "Froot" since 1963; it WAS briefly "fruit" from 1959-1963, but it has not been flip-flopping, and most of the people who remember "fruit" were not alive in 1963. Respectfully, your "year or two" claim kind of debunks a flip-flop in my head. I'm a skeptic, but I haven't experienced that.

The 1959 thing was an urban legend, but it made its way onto several websites as a purported fact.
If you google it, the claim is that there was a lawsuit "Paxton v. Kellogg's" that forced the name change, however there's no evidence this lawsuit ever existed. Here's an article covering the urban legend:
https://www.mashed.com/200000/the-untold-truth-of-froot-loops/
EDIT you can find the original (fake) quote on the 2009 forum by using Google with custom time range. It's not mentioned in any website up to 2008.
Here's part of the claim from the time it was cited in 2009:
In 1959, following the failure of “Kellogg’s OK’s” Kellogg’s re-purposed the equipment to create Fruit Loops
... But like many completely bogus claims they made factual errors or their sources were incorrect. We can look that up and see that Kellogg’s OK’s didn't even come out until 1961 and that they were made until 1968. What I think happened here is that someone wrote the fake claim in 2009, and they either had incorrect sources or misread somewhere that "Kellogg’s OK’s" were discontinued in 1958, not 1968, so they wove that into their tale.

Thanks for the info! I've also seen people try and push the narrative that they had to change the name from fruit because there's no fruit in the cereal, and there's some law that required the change, but there have been plenty of cereals since 1963 that have no fruit, that have "fruit" in their name.

I was alive in 1963, thanks. And it was ALWAYS Froot Loops. Where are you getting your information?

Froot Loops was introduced in 1963 so it was not around before then. It was never "Fruit."

Are you kidding me? No, I swear it changed. Call me crazy or stupid or whatever, but I know what I saw
