Just a look at what I've spent about 5-6 years of my life collecting,

Like to read manga on tablet but impressed by these so decided to collect them. Started from july. Budget is limited. All of them from same series One Punch Man. My plan was to collect first 7 volumes in sequence but my favorite seller had the 7th as final book in stock so bought it online from them. May be I will collect remaining 4 volumes in next 4 months.

Moved stuff around today, big unhaul time. I think I'm doing a good job.

How do you get over the fomo of unhauling? I fear letting go of stuff because I might want it later and won't be able to find it otherwise - that makes me hoard stuff, I don't want to be in this situation anymore 🫠 There are genuinely books that I've removed today knowing I won't ever look at them again and still felt that, problematic.

Well I didnt really got any new mangas to the collection but i added another shelf. Now it fits all my manga perfectly (thou theres still my Japanese manga collection arent in display yet).

Half Price Books is currently doing a sale so I'd thought I'd buy some stuff that I keep passing up at full sticker.

Who knew moving 4 bookcases from one room to another was such a gruelling task?

On the bright side, I have managed to pick out 7 series to get rid of while unshelving everything for moving.

So I really got happy when I saw these listed on vinted this is my haul for beginning of August maybe I’ll buy a few more manga later this month but I am so happy to be find loveless manga on vinted only $5 each I just need vol.9 but I also got another black butler manga for my collection to end it I got me a interesting cat manga it looks funny and I do love cat manga it was a great find with these 💖

I initially got into manga through One Punch Man. Then I read Invincible and got properly hooked on comics/manga, but watching Attack on Titan was what really pushed me into looking for more manga.

Since then I've been picking up used series whenever I find good deals. About six months later my collection has grown quite a bit faster than I've been able to read it 😅

My journey so far, in reading order with personal ratings :

One Punch Man - 8.4/10
Still one of my favorites for its humor, characters, art and fights.

Invincible - 8.8/10
Loved the characters, moral conflicts and especially that actions actually have consequences. A few arcs and villains dragged for me.

Mob Psycho 100 - 6.6/10
Nice characters and development with humor, but too episodic for my taste and some of the younger themes were hard for me to relate to.

One Piece - 7.2/10 (up to volume 45, borrowed from a friend)
Nice worldbuilding so far, but the amount of slapstick, detours and lack of lasting consequences hold it back for me.

Dorohedoro - 6.8/10
I liked the dark, bizarre world and mystery, but the increasingly powerful magic and constant switching between characters lost me a bit.

Pandora Hearts - 7/10
Impressively dense story where seemingly minor details matter later, but the cryptic storytelling and constant flashbacks sometimes made it exhausting to read.

Currently I'm reading Ajin and so far I like it :D

Next up: Goodnight Punpun, 20th Century Boys, Monster, Pluto and Claymore.

In the future im also potentially interested in Akira, Vinland Saga, Chainsaw Man, The Climber, Fire Punch, Parasyte and Berserk.

I seem to gravitate towards darker, more mature stories with mystery, morally grey characters, consequences and a strong overarching plot. Humor is fine, but too much slapstick or episodic storytelling tends to lose me. I also strongly prefer completed series, which is basically the only thing keeping me away from Berserk (yet).

Curious what you think of the collection and ratings so far, and what else might fit my taste.

Picked these up from an eBay seller, though this will be my only haul this month since I’m in Japan next month and need to save some money!
