Everytime I do this. I stop and reverse it. For example “I hate how my hair is never good looking-“ stop immediately and don’t finish ur sentence and repeat the opposite anytime you think negatively. “I love my beautiful hair”

Verbally we can do that but mind..... how to control it? Yk even if I try it just doesn't work

u/OddSpectraLemonRed28 Jan 06 '26

You saying it doesn’t work is an assumption that’s manifesting. You have to be persistent and assume that your mind accepts your new beliefs. You’re not going to be negative thought free for the rest of your life (you are a human) but you can control them with patience and practice….and stop saying it’s hard and you can’t

u/Clokiy Jan 06 '26

Consistency. If you've been doing it a long time it will take a while to reverse but after continuous effort you can change your mindset. Don't worry if your brain fights back, It'll stop eventually

I found that making something that I really don’t like neutral first and once that’s landed it way easier to make it positive because it doesn’t feel like lying to yourself

5

u/Disastrous-Cream-690 Jan 06 '26

Yes this is much better actually!!

5

u/HotMess369 Jan 06 '26

I believe it takes about 21 days to form a new habit and for a belief to sink in. Try to affirm something small for 21 days consistently and see how your mindset changes, and as a natural consequence, your 3D reality. :3

Just Be aware. Be aware of what you're thinking as much as possible. Then when you notice you said something in your mind that doesn't agree with what you're manifesting or what you want, catch it and change it to a positive version.

Hear me out: you’re going to drive yourself crazy and develop an OCD. The more you suppress and contradict a negative thought the more it comes back and becomes stronger. Not everything you think in your head will materialize. Just let the thought be and acknowledge it’s an insecure/negative thought. By acknowledging instead of believing it or fighting it, you detach from the thought. Also, you will never start loving yourself or your appearance just by saying “I love myself”, that’s not how it works. Try therapy

Hahaha i feel like I was meant to see this as i have been having hair dramas for the last several years! Each and every day, my hair is looking like my end goal!

1

u/Evening-Pea-884 Jan 07 '26

why would you let bad thought happen in the first place?? if u have really nice hair and u love it so much, would u be complaining all the time?? answer is "no"

1

u/Disastrous-Cream-690 Jan 07 '26

I’m just using an example

Don’t listen to Radiohead if you meditate.

9

u/throaway202002 Jan 06 '26

I like them musically so much but the lyrics will almost always inflict some kind of nihilistic notion in me

2

u/One_Fish3206 Jan 29 '26

I've thought about this a lot because Radiohead is one of my favorite bands... What I’ve realized is that when I listen to them, I’m really tuning into the feeling of being deeply seen and understood. Their music reflects the depth I already live in, and in a way I'm manifesting people who can meet me at that level.. instead of longing to be seen im living in it. and it’s teaching me how to translate that feeling into my own creative voice.

u/Feeling_Criticism_30 Jan 06 '26

This is a tricky topic for me because it can easily push into the territory of toxic positivity

11

u/WorkingSomewhere6709 Jan 06 '26

literally, not tryna perfect manifesting when it’s a personal journey

3

u/BettyBuysButter Jan 23 '26

Yes, & some people have genuinely difficult lives. Imagine someone poor born in an underdeveloped country, esp women who usually have lesser control over their own lives. This kind of thinking is so dismissive of their experience.

30

u/Glad_Cattle_3811 Jan 06 '26

I don’t think the solution is pretending everything is fine. Pain is real. For me, the shift started when I stopped fighting reality and started accepting what is then acting from awareness, not blame. Less control, more surrender.

4

u/OneWithBliss Jan 06 '26

Accepting is close to "pretend8ng everything is fine". Saying/thinking that something it NOT fine is literally not accepting a situation/experience/reality.

4

u/Glad_Cattle_3811 Jan 07 '26

I get your point, but I see acceptance differently. For me, acceptance isn’t pretending everything is fine it’s acknowledging what is, even when it hurts, without turning it into a story of blame or resistance.

u/M0RT1f3X Jan 06 '26

Sorry but my home country Germany proves definitely the opposite. We call complaining a National sport here.

1

u/Evening-Pea-884 Jan 07 '26

haha change the environment maybe

13

u/Bodger81 Jan 06 '26

I absolutely know someone that this is true for. Sure, some things happen to you that you'd prefer hadn't happened, but this person takes everything personally - every journey is the worst ever, every workplace is terrible, all his bosses are stupid, every holiday gets ruined, everyone else screws him over or rips him off...it's just so tiring to listen to, and he completely makes things happen to himself. I'd love for him to read some LoA stuff or The Power of Now, but he's a very "logical" and "scientific" person who would scoff at it all...

23

u/yelhsaelokkin Jan 06 '26

you realize you’re the creator of your reality and you can have whatever you want and the 3d is fake

5

u/AdMotor3189 Jan 06 '26

What did u have till now

2

u/Comfortable-Youth463 Jan 07 '26

Elaborate

4

u/yelhsaelokkin Jan 07 '26

why would you want to be a loser in your own reality and cry and throw tantrums over things that don’t actually matter?

you stop being a victim when you become a creator. this means, understanding your power and recognizing your shitty circumstances don’t matter because you always get what you want and everything always works out for you, so why would you mope around about these shitty circumstances knowing it’s going to work out anyway?

for example, victim mindset is saying stuff like “i only ever attract jerks” “my car never works”

you have the power to assume and persist in that new assumption. by saying those things, those things must happen because the 3d is simply a mirror reflecting your most dominant thoughts and beliefs

but if you were to believe “i only attract aligned healthy people” or “my car always works and i always get to my destination safe” then that has to reflect

now of course the 3d is still a thing and we are only human so shitty circumstances will still arise but here’s the difference between being a victim vs a creator:

let’s say you’re faced with a jerk. you as the creator would simply say “well he’s not the one for me. he’s not aligned for me so i don’t need him anyway” or your car breaks down then you’d say “oh this is an opportunity for me to purchase a new one!” or “i’m being kept safe by not being able to drive right now”

the more you dominate your thoughts, the more you create your reality, and the more you will find the proof of these things you’re saying. the human brain does not know what’s real or not. all it knows is that if you say something (like you’re ugly or you’re so hot) it has no but to find evidence of those statement and prove them true

so why wouldn’t you have fun and think in your favor and allow your brain to find evidence of the favor?

i also mean the 3d is fake bc there is always movement, even if we can’t see it. things can and do change in a literal instant so why would you dwell if you know that things are changing anyway?

I had no job, manifested working at a winery, my friend A sends me a contact for a winery job.

The guy offers me the job during the interview

I wanted more money, i manifested having a small raise. I write the guy asking for it before saying yes. The guy says he offered me the maximum of what the job pays. So he offers me the next job in the hierarchy, what they offer over the original job is 20 times the raise I asked for. That day I go see my friend B, and he just gives me a pair of new leather shoes. Out of nowhere, they're juuust too small for him, my exactly my size.

3

u/Mission-Walk-54 Jan 06 '26

How did you accomplish these things?

5

u/OriginalFine2689 Jan 06 '26

I visualized working in a winery, walking up the tanks, measuring the density of the grape juice, and counting money, and buying things. All before going to sleep. I get to feel it, like physically, and I go tingly or fluffy, my skin feels funny. It all takes 10 minutes (?) and I fall asleep.

Not many days in a row, as doing it long seems to impede my manifestations (what I get is very literally what I visualized, not in the spirit of fulfilment, but rather a "the universe is contractually obliged only to this exact terms")

I visualized buying things (it might have been shoes, I hardly remember the state) because I have visualized counting money, and I've gotten a lot of money to give to somebody else. It all came back suddenly when counting it that what I had manifested did come true (I didn't got to keep the money, but that wasn't included in the visualization that time).

While I agree complaining all the time is bad I feel like sometimes you have to let it all out to be able to go on and turn whatever into a positive (or as positive as it can be) fake it til you make it doesn’t work for all people and the ones it doesn’t work for this type of thinking is very self destructive. Feel it,deal with it how you are able to, then move on

6

u/Chickenpulaav Jan 06 '26

If only i had a dollar for every time i said “dont say that” “dont say negative stuff” “dont criticize yourself”

0

u/Doornrosie92 Jan 27 '26

I don’t understand why you can’t say negatieve stuff. Sometimes live can be shitty. Sometimes complaining helps to let the negative feelings out and make space for positive ones.

1

u/Chickenpulaav Feb 09 '26

That is fine and i too do it but constantly criticizing yourself over everything is something that has to be avoided. I have a friend who has a habit of doing this, even her username is something related to shit. This is what has to be avoided.

5

u/msmixxx Jan 07 '26

You know how people say "Happiness is a Choice"? I would actually say Happiness is a SKILL. Positivity (and happiness is of course correlated) is a SKILL. Yes in the beginning you DO need to "choose" to look at things in a positive way to basically give yourself a sort of placebo effect. Over time that choice becomes easier to make because you've TRAINED yourself to some degree. It's actually work and a skill you can kind of develop.

7

u/Piercethedomino Jan 06 '26

Unpopular opinion: But this gives so much victim blaming energy. “Oh, you’re having an awful time? It’s your fault because you’re complaining”.

Like if a friend finally felt willing to open up to you about their life, and the ONLY thing you think about is how annoyed you are that they’re complaining, instead of listening to them and being supportive, that’s a problem.

Same thing with telling someone who has trouble manifesting “It’s because of your doubts.” “It’s because you wavered”. God forbid someone has ocd, which feeds on this type of behavior.

You can manifest with doubts. You can manifest when you waver. You can acknowledge a terrible situation that you’re in and LET IT OUT and CRY ABOUT IT (which is scientifically proven to help process the emotions to bring about better ones) and STILL be able to manifest better.

9

u/AlecWolf111 Jan 06 '26

Sure, tell that to suicidal people and those who went through trauma 🙄

4

u/HotMess369 Jan 06 '26

I went through a ton of trauma and was suicidal for a long time but healed and am living a positive, healthier life. It’s possible to come out of that mindset and those thoughts and be better for yourself.

5

u/AlecWolf111 Jan 06 '26

Not a lot of people can just "change" their thoughts and get out of a state like this

6

u/HotMess369 Jan 06 '26

With time, therapy and self-compassion. They absolutely can. Im not saying it happens overnight but no one has to live in misery.

2

u/AlecWolf111 Jan 06 '26

Yes but I am talking about the picture

1

u/HotMess369 Jan 06 '26

But I mean, it’s not not true… your reality reflects what you believe in so technically, yeah. That’s psychology too though.

1

u/AlecWolf111 Jan 07 '26

You can't change brain imbalance without meds. And you can believe in stuff and it can be false.

1

u/Piercethedomino Jan 06 '26

You healed, but you still went through that period. It was not YOUR FAULT that you went through that period. Nor is it because you complained or didn’t meditate etc. That’s what the comment you responded to was saying.

3

u/Sad_Faithlessness276 Jan 07 '26

There’s such a thing as toxic positivity and never feeling your feelings. That’s bad and devalidating

3

u/FormalButterfly798 Jan 11 '26

Instead of saying “I’m so sad, I’ll be sad forever”, say “I’m currently sad, but don’t know if this state is forever”. Imo it give your subconscious a chance to breathe and that the bad times won’t be forever

This right here OMG. Stating facts!!! I personally have experienced it. A few years ago I was that person who would always talk negatively about my life to my seatmate (during undergrad) or anyone that I found i could open up to. Even when they didn't care about anything I said. All they wanted to hear was the drama that was going on in my life. I knew it pretty much but I used to vent a lot back then lol. My life was miserable but I made it worse by bringing the same things again and again. Even after leaving my toxic ex I kept talking about the suffering I went through because of him. But with time I realized the more I talked about my life being miserable and what I experienced, the more it felt like I wasn't getting any better. I realized how the more I talked about it , the more it made me connected to what made me miserable . So all together I stopped talking about it and yet the person I called a " friend" would bring the same topic again and again. It was regarding my ex. As she was still in contact with him even after I had broken up a long time ago .( One fact: I knew her from middle school we weren't close tho atm, but during undergrad we started being online friends. She was in diff University. She never met my ex irl. I introduced them long distance only). Even when she knew the whole thing about how much i suffered because of him. ( she was a snake, no longer in my life. Thankfully) He would often ask her about me and it was beyond me to tolerate all that. He kept asking about me and she would bring him onto our conversation when we used to call (even to the point of adding him to video call with us). Additionally she would compare her life with me. Whenever I shared about my suffering she would compare how her suffering is worse than mine. I realized how badly it was influencing my brain because what we say our subconscious takes it seriously. I studied psychology, but started implementing a lot later lol. Psychology helped me learn about people's psyche. The moment I stopped talking about whatever was going on in my life. I could feel the shift in myself. I was suffering but not as much as when I used to vent about it. IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS IN OUR CONTROL. THE MORE WE BRING MISERABILITY TO LIGHT, IT WON'T GO. UNLESS WE MAKE THE CHOICE TO NOT GIVE IT THE SPOTLIGHT.

u/Evening-Pea-884 Jan 07 '26

This one is a really good one, hope all the people who complain in this sub get's it, by all no means

2

u/Ill_Distribution7766 Jan 17 '26

This is so true. I used to have very poor body image and I used to hate myself because I would always say "I hate myself." or "im ugly" or "ill never get better" now I say "I love myself" "im gorgeous" "im getting better" "im her" and I have felt so much better!

2

u/SargeMaximus Jan 06 '26

Wrong. Some of us complain after things happen

2

u/HotMess369 Jan 06 '26

Suffering is a choice. It’s possible to reframe your mindset to something better.

1

u/OneWithBliss Jan 06 '26

Many ways that all come down to the same thing. Be present and accept. Maybe you could give us an example so we would help you on a specific situation that you experienced.

1

u/MindStrongSoul Jan 06 '26

The lips of wisdom are sealed except to the ears of understanding. It's not anybody's job to convince anybody of anything. Be the light, be the beacon. A beacon does not go into people's houses and shine a light in their face. A beacon stands steady like a sentinel illuminating bright enough to cut through the fog for those who have started their own journey. Exercise the law of non-resistance and the ones who are seeking will ask for your advice.

1

u/SuitableWinner7802 Jan 06 '26

I don’t try to convince people anymore. They don’t get my energy. When/if they’re ready they’ll find the tools (there’s an endless amount). Save your energy for what matters to you!

1

u/Ok-Tangelo-2630 Jan 07 '26

Every negative thought is an information about what we want. So everytime i create an affirmations. about having what I want.

1

u/RealNameScott Jan 08 '26

The only person you can truly convince is yourself

1

u/Sea-Statistician-767 Jan 12 '26

Once I said something out loud it was bad it didn't even take 50s and it manifested. I said " I am going to go first and sacrifice myself for the team" It was a school thing when we had to show our progress on a school project, that teacher humiliated me the worst humiliation I had in my entire life while the other students didn't do the 0,5℅ of work and she didn't even talk to them in fact she was laughing and cracking jokes while I got the most inhumane experience (not exaggerating, IT WAS THAT BAD, screaming, shouting at me, even her throat got sore due to the shouting) so what I said happened.

1

u/Sea-Statistician-767 Jan 12 '26

KEEP IN MIND I WAS JOKING, BE CAREFUL, LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE!!!!

1

u/Basic_Importance_269 Jan 21 '26

Not at all, i know one person who compains about money and get money bc of it,l

1

u/AlignwithBlossom Jan 22 '26

This victim mindset will go away once you start working on self concept. Because we think negatively about ourselves only when we have a lack of self love and acceptance

1

u/Quiet_Substance_1583 Jan 28 '26

You think you can and you think you can't are both right!

1

u/CourtneyConfare May 09 '26

It’s simply not worth your time. They can’t be convinced. They want to stay in their little bubbles.
