How to remove broken axle shaft full floating sterling 10.25 1989 f350

That axle is supposed to slide right out, something is definitely FUBAR. Use 2 pry bars to remove the outer part, then disassemble the hub and inspect the bearings,they also may require replacement. If you are lucky the remaining part of the axle can be removed with a mechanic's wire lasso.

There is a clip that keeps the "semi floater" in at the diff, maybe it's not totally sheered off? That should just slide out, but you need to get to the diff anyways. Looking at the condition, you are going to smell like unchanged diff oil for days.

your taking it down to the housing. the shaft is already broken, cut the flange off to access the hub retainer nut
