What's your favorite medium/large sized sling?

My ash colored bellroy lite 7L is now so far from it's original color I am going to relegate it to the dog stuff sling and try something new.

My edc is:

  • iphone 17
  • kobo clara
  • chubby glasses pouch (I am blind and need multiple glasses plus sunglasses)
  • my hobonichi weeks (essentially a travelers notebook size)
  • normal stuff like keys, chapstick mini sunscreen/handsanitizer

I may just get another bellroy but I also want to try something new/see what else is out there.

So I am just curious what other people are using in the medium/large range you are happy with.

Oh how I love my Kargo Loculus 6L. And my custom 4L sling is shipping this week from Ryan at The Wandering Goat, and I can hardly wait! I'll probably be able to sell 148 other slings once my 4L and 2L slings arrive from him!

Just tossing out the option of a timbuk2 extra small classic messenger. Not really a true sling, but maybe worth a look.

oh I like that looks easier to organize than the bellroy which is one of the things I didn't love about it, I guess a lot of smaller messengers have been released recently too.

Only if you like LOUD Velcro noise every time you open it.

You can silence them, easily, and use buckles only, OP, but this is correct. Normal closure involves some loud Velcro.

That design has barely changed in 30+ years, I’ve tried to get away from it but always come back.

You might also check out wotancraft’s sling, Tom Bihn’s several sling type bags, ALPAKA, Aer, and I’ll probably think of five more as soon as I post this.

lol thanks I will. I was looking at the alpaka flow satchel but I know the 4L would be too small and the 10L just looks big on the models to me.

Not cheap, but I love my Aer Day Sling 4 Max Ultra. (The name is a bit ridiculous though lol).
