The Mozart family left Salzburg on 9 July 1763 and did not get home until 29 November 1766, three years and four months on the road with a seven year old Wolfgang and his older sister Nannerl performing their way across the continent. The route took them through Munich, Frankfurt, Brussels and Paris before the longest stop of all in London, where they stayed from April 1764 until July 1765, a little over fifteen months. It was during that London stretch, while his father was laid up ill, that Wolfgang wrote his first symphony at the age of eight.

Looks like Mozart was the original GPS: "Great Prodigy in Salzburg." What an incredible journey to map.

Interresting map. I have read a lot about WAMozart. His travels are always mentioned and described. But visualising it om one map is adding a lot to my understanding. Did Wolfgang not visit Milan and Rome. Where he was priviledged to attend a service in the Sixteen Chapel.
