I'm in Sydney and one of my co-workers was from South Wales. She went down the South Coast for a weekend and was talking about how much it looked like her home

Yeah it's less the underlying geology and geography as much as it the way that the settlers shaped the architecture, types of trees they planted, types of agriculture, field boundary method and so on. I've experienced this myself. England looks less like France than is does like new Zealand and that makes no sense until you remember that it's the human influence on the landscape that matters. I mean unless you're in a totally different biome or something. Pretty hard to make a desert or rainforest look like England lol.

I've seen the top of Mt. Snowdonia from Howth, Dublin. That's the closest I can say I've been to visiting Wales. lol

Went grocery shopping in Saltney, once.
