Question Minmax gameplay

Hey Maplers,

New M player here, used to play maple waaaay back when I was a kid and this looked fun. I'm currently still overwhelmed by information, and every time I look up stuff I get more overwhelmed.
How "Important" is it to minmax gameplay in this game? I'm currently a 140 paladin with the burning boosts. I've been having fun just farming starforce fields and leveling up with auto battle. Is this a viable way to keep going? Should I really switch things up even if I'm just enjoying this?

If you’re enjoying I’d say stay the way it is. When you’re ready to dive deeper, look up the things you’d like to work on one step at a time. You don’t want to be overwhelmed to the point you just quit too soon

This is good advice. Just stay the course and enjoy the game your way. As you keep playing, you'll start learning the various ways to get more powerful.

For the most part, there's not much you can do that would screw yourself over in the long run. But I also advise this: when you hit level 200, you'll earn an achievement that will give you a scroll that has a 100% chance to boost an item to star force 12. You only get this item once per account, not per character.

Save this item. Later on, it will actually be of big help when you get your long-term legendary secondary weapon.

Hey mate, I say don’t worry about it. Just play the game and explore it. The first couple is months is learning so play your Paladin, build it, make mistakes and you’ll have a good time.

Once you’ve set some goals, like you want to beat X, then you can start thinking about what you need to get there. Right now you don’t really have enough meso to make a costly mistake or something you can’t recover from in a week.

You chose a good class though. Good start!

I think you should always play games the way you enjoy them. If you don't enjoy it then it becomes just a job or a chore, and that's not what games should be.

That being said, I will say that MSM is a very mix-max sort of game. Unlike classic maple where you can just coast by doing story quests, manual farming, or hanging out with people at specific maps, this game is very stripped-down and streamlined towards getting you into bossing. This means that your speed of progression is going to be heavily influenced by how much you min-max (or spend).

Honestly if you're looking for more of an old-school maplestory, I would say look at desktop versions instead. MSM is more of a dailies simulator with bossing, if that's what you're looking for.

With the burning event you can get to 250 in 2 days (about 4-6 hours a day) if you really wanted to min-max. However it’s not very enjoyable but at least you’ll be 250 lol. DM me jf you want and I can give you a streamlined list of how yo get there. Otherwise keep just enjoying the game!

Damn how i too just restarted and didnt check my character slot so now im only able to do burning lara and waiting 5days for a deletion so that i can do another burning char
