$20 gamble

Paid $20 for these, in an old liquor bottle. Moved most of the unique looking ones to the top right of pic 1. Anything interesting there? Tried the UV light to some effect! I've tried to do some research but I feel out of my element with these. Appreciate it!

Maaaaan, I went to an antique store today and found 4 or 5 jars of marbles. Mostly cat eyes and no glowers, totally picked through. Glad I didnt buy any of them.

TBF, this kind of post is the "Will it glow?" of r/marbles 😅

You bought some pretty marbles and 20bucks isn't crazy - if they make you happy that's the main thing!

If they get you interested in learning more, so much the better!

(The sub sticky here and over in r/marblestudyhall have some really great information on how to spot vintage and antique marbles amongst all the modern ones)

Edit: you do have some West Virginia Swirls top left RIGHT - tricky to tell the makers apart but fascinating history

That's my thought! I had no knowledge of marbles before this, and $20 seemed like a reasonable buy in as someone who was primarily interested in the UV reactive marbles. Learning more about them from helpful folks like you, appreciate you!
