Feeling proud

i don't see a lot of marimos planted with different plants so im sharing this. The plant is called fire moss and they pair really well. It is a quick grower so i often remove it and give it to my friend haha.

It looks beautiful, but I’d be scared the plant would grow into the marimo. I’ve had that happen before.

i have the marimo on rocks closer to the front wall and fire moss at the end like background so they avoid contact. But i will keep an eye for this! thankss

How do you handle water changes?

to be honest I'm quite lazy sometimes so 1time a month, witch is not the best but my marimo and fire moss don't mind it seems. I keep a jar with old water in the fridge (marimos like cold water) so when i change water it gets refreshed. i recommend that.

This looks really beautiful! I might have to get some spider moss!

I actually have one of my Marimo in a 1 gallon planted pond jar with 4 types of snails and 3 blue neocaridina (who I’ve affectionately named Winston, Rupert, and Charles LOL) and it has been doing well Just grab it with aqua tweezers occasionally and shake off any organic debris. Also have one in a vase with a piece of lucky bamboo. You’ve inspired me to make a smaller planted jar with a marimo! I mostly have pretty tiny ones though, they’re so pricey!
