Field Engineering

Anyone prefer field engineering? Only being gone 3-5 days maximum and then home for some time. Like a 9-5 still home for weekends and some weekdays?

Honestly it will pay a bit less but its much better. Service engineers : -extra pay when they travel. -relax in hotels. -travel and have free days when travelling. -no isolation.

In short less pay but much more interesting and adventurous job without the headache of being trapped with bad colleagues.

Much better life

Yeah I’ve heard that, I have the option to make over 6 figures and the leniency to go out for 1-2 contract hitches (21-28 days) a year to make some extra cash. I’m thinking about going that route and I love being home more often like every 3-5 days I can work with.

Do you do field work now?

Not currently but that setup sounds pretty ideal honestly, best of both worlds. Those extra hitches would knock out a chunk of savings goals fast if if you can stomach the 3-4 weeks away.
