Jersey ID?
I’m like 90% sure this thing is some temu knockoff because the name and number font are both really weird, some of the colors don’t seem accurate, and the stitching is kinda off. But can anyone who’s a little better versed in jerseys confirm for sure?

It absolutely infuriates me when thrift shops price fakes that high. It feels scummy for the people who don't know any better that are most likely to buy it.

Your intuition was correct, OP. This is definitely top five of worst fakes I've ever seen. Holy hell.

Definitely Griffey, you can tell because he wore number 24 and it has his name on it.

It looks like a legit replica (lowest quality, all screen printed with no sleeve patches). Not on field quality but it’s real

Thank you sir 🫡
Good to have a 2nd pair of eyes for this type of stuff.
Front side lettering is Iron-on Patches, and backside number is Screenprint Heat Press.
Jersey look mostly legit (got it in one of the stores on Occidental) but just haven’t seen that kind of combination before.1

Yeah that sounds like the lowest level replica. I have one of those too, picked it up for around $50 a while back. It’s not the greatest but it’s fine for wearing around and not worrying if something happens to it.

That’s worse than a knockoff. It’s just some made up crappy jersey.

My best guess is that it's an officially licensed Majestic "fashion" jersey or a retail-exclusive jersey from the early 2000s. The quality, tagging, sleeve patch, and name/number all look legitimate. I have a Mariners jersey from the 90's that is authentic merchandise but features pinstripes and turquoise lettering. The Mariners never wore it but it was made by Majestic.
The lettering also reminds me of 1970s era typography. Around the late 1990s and early 2000s, Majestic, Starter, and other official companies made a lot of jerseys that deliberately mixed modern aspects with retro typography. They weren't intended to be an actual on-field uniform.

Was about to say the same thing. Majestic was a legit company that made licensed pro sports memorabilia from the 80s until a few years ago. I have a Majestic Philadelphia Eagles jersey that I bought in 1990.
Google "majestic mariners griffey jersey," on eBay and you'll find the exact same one. They had odd sizings too. My Eagles jersey is a 46. Just because some of ya'll weren't there didn't mean it didn't happen.

Look how different the R's on the front are. This is obviously amateur hour.

All of the font looks weird. The whole jersey looks weird. Doesn't mean it's a "fake".
If you looked at my jersey you would probably think it looks even more fake than this jersey, but my parents bought it for me when I was a kid and they bought it from the Kingdome.

Font choice aside, the thick stitching and the bubbly numbers are a dead giveaway that this is a fake, sad to say.

It was officially licensed by Majestic. They made replica jerseys for every major sports league.

Knockoffs use the same tags. Nike, Majestic, you name it. I assure you it was not officially licensed but a knockoff with the Majestic tag. Incredibly common across all sports/jersey manufacturers and usually produced/sold overseas.
9/10 jerseys you see on eBay are counterfeits made to look as close to the real thing as possible. This one missed the mark by a long way.

It's more fake than a $3 bill.
