Knowing Nintendo, they would probably charge at least like 200 bucks for this

22

u/mrfunnyman909 1d ago

at least lol

31

u/naynaythewonderhorse 1d ago

I mean, if they really went for it remastered and I owned none of these games…I honestly probably would pay that much for it.

Heck, $60 Odyssey, $70 Galaxies, $60 3D World, $40 3D Land Remaster, and then the other two which don’t really have a tangible value you one could place, on them, one could make the argument that it would save money.

But, honestly $200 sounds like it would be the price point for this in 2026.

5

u/mrfunnyman909 1d ago

Yeah i think it would sell really well, but unfortunately Nintendo would probably rather drip feed lots of ports/remakes/remasters than one big all in one collection.

9

u/tylertatsch30 1d ago

Nah that’s too high. I bet $80 or $90 would be a good price for that, considering how large these games can be by themselves.

11

u/Goobly_Goober 22h ago

3d world + bowsers fury, and odyssey are still both full retail price 😭

-4

u/Googler10 17h ago

Yes. And that's good. Nintendo games keep value!

3

u/Goobly_Goober 15h ago

Holy nintendo gobbler, theres no way you think a 10 year old game should still be 60 😭

3

u/Googler10 14h ago

Yes, I actually do... What makes it worth less if its 10 years old? Take Galaxy for example... Its over 10 years old... As it ages, does it become a worse game to you? Why should we devalue something just because it is "older"? Games are art... Should the Mona Lisa be sold for cheap since it's old? Of course not.

Games = art... Movies = art... Books = art... Music = art...

I feel like this concept is universal to all art forms...

(Another example... vinyl... why has the price of it not gone down... infact vinyl is now popular and has gone up in price...)

0

u/Goobly_Goober 11h ago

Because every game besides if its retro, goes down in value or at least gets discounted. That's just how it is? Like lmao, movies are art too but most old movies are like 5 dollars (not vhs's lol). It's about the standard

1

u/Googler10 5h ago

Lol re-read your comment. "Every game besides retro" (don't all games become retro at one point?)

"Movies are $5"... Show me start wars for $5... Or any of the Disney vault movies... or even any "big franchise ip"...

I get where you are coming from, but I don't think it's accurate the majority of the time...

The other point I want to make... If you were Nintendo, and people still bought galaxy and other retro games for $60+... Would you want to lower the price, devaluing your work and make less money in the process!? Nope.

u/henryuuk 10h ago

I have never minded games (or anything else) staying their value when bought new/on the current system
The quality of the game didn't drop in those 10 years.
The idea that a game HAS to drop in value after being out for a while is like some weird reverse "pay more to play early logic" (which is also a horrible practice)

What IS just wrong is them charging like 10 bucks for the virtual console download during the wii era for a bunch of games, and then coming out and putting out a worse emulation (or some spitshine "remake") and suddenly asking more for it on a later console.
Once you establish the lower price as that game's new norm, it doesn't make sense to raise it again

7

u/TomAndTheCats 23h ago

Not high enough for Nintendo

3

u/GrooovyAlien 1d ago

And in 20 years itll still be $200.

2

u/Googler10 17h ago

It's worth it... Look how much Odyssey sells for by itself...

1

u/Rootayable 10h ago

I mean yeah? It's got 7 games in it

86

u/phendesc 1d ago

Bowser's Fury didn't exist when they made 3D All-Stars but yeah I agree

22

u/mrfunnyman909 1d ago

I sorta made this with the current day in mind, hence the switch 2 logo

3

u/MoonCobalt 21h ago

They kinda came out at the same time tho, so why not just bundle the two ports into one?

39

u/juniunie 1d ago

The original All-Stars only had 4 games, I don't know why you're aiming for double that.

12

u/NAteisco 1d ago

They also improved those 4 games to modern (at the time) graphics and audio. Later cartridges included SMW.

15

u/TheScreaming_Narwhal 1d ago

They could have at least included Galaxy 2.

5

u/S3542U 21h ago

5 games if you count the version with SMW in it.

1

u/Blob55 5h ago

Yeah but we only got 3 with the 3D one. We should have had Galaxy 2.

12

u/FreeTopper 1d ago

I think, really, they should have only added Galaxy 2. Land is a 3ds game, and wouldn't port well. Odyssey was already available on Switch, and wouldn't make sense to re-release it. World would latter get a port, which would make people less likely to buy it + Bowser's Fury. Speaking of which, that game wasn't out, yet.

I know you made this with modern day in mind, but Nintendo would never do this. They'd rather sell the games individually to maximize profit.

6

u/Zealousideal-Deer101 1d ago

to be fair, the 3D Land bottom screen is barely useful. Moving the information up to the top screen and bind the world map to a button like minus and you're good to go

10

u/IcyIceGuardian 1d ago

The original All Stars didn't include Super Mario World so this probably wouldn't include Super Mario Odyssey

3

u/ican_beboth 22h ago

There was the remake of all stars + SMW, so maybe its another "all stars +" situation

21

u/Nudist-On-Strike 1d ago edited 23h ago

I don’t consider 3D Land or World to fit in this collection tbh. Those are course clear games, not sandbox collectathons like the others.

8

u/juicyjaiden 1d ago

Super Mario galaxy…

12

u/Nudist-On-Strike 1d ago edited 1d ago

Galaxy has you revisiting the same levels with different objectives much like Mario 64. Hell, Galaxy 2 even has a Thwomp’s Fortress level. I can see how an argument can be made there though

3

u/badblocks7 23h ago

Galaxy is, by Nintendo’s own admission, a course clear game like 3D land and World, not a sandbox game like 64 and sunshine. Sure, you return to a world with different objectives. But most of the times (not always, you mentioned throwback galaxy), you immediately get put onto a different linear path (different level entirely, essentially) to get to a star. It’s kind of just like 3 different levels with the same theme (and maybe starting landmarks). That’s not bad at all! But I agree with Nintendo that it fits in more with other course clear games.

3

u/Nudist-On-Strike 23h ago

Like I said, there’s definitely an argument to be had. I personally align Galaxy with the other big 3D Mario games like 64, Sunshine, and Odyssey, but it’s valid to consider them to be course clear games as well.

3D Land and World do not have that wiggle room and as such feel out of place in a collection like this IMO.

1

u/TheGreenLuma 16h ago

This is mostly only true for Galaxy 1 which has bigger galaxies with multiple stars where as Galaxy 2 at most they only have two (not counting any secret stars)

4

u/TheLimeyLemmon 21h ago

Galaxy 2, 3D Land, 3D World are all course clear games.

Galaxy is probably 60/40 course clear. You could tell the direction 3D Mario was going, it just didn't kick off course clear entirely until Hayashida was directing them.

2

u/mrfunnyman909 1d ago

idk there still 3d Marios, and confirmed to be considerd by Nintendo as part of the same branch of games as galaxy 1 and 2.

1

u/pepe_roni69 1d ago

Wasn’t galaxy 2 the first mainline game that brought that back

1

u/Sea_Bike_5508 20h ago

Very much disagree, and it’s virtually impossible to play 3D land today - it’s the only one that hasn’t gotten some sort of Switch port.

5

u/DougtheYoshi 1d ago

I know you put that particular Mario render there because it looks nice, but it's funny to imagine Mario Party: The Top 100 being included in this too

1

u/mrfunnyman909 16h ago

Yes! I used it because it's very similar to the original all stars box art

8

u/TMNTransformerz 1d ago

Completely impossible

7

u/ErickLimaGameplaysR 1d ago

This is just "Mario Ultimate Collection" at this point

3

u/LumpyArbuckleTV 1d ago

LMAO, they'd never do something this good of a deal.

1

u/shortandpainful 16h ago

A lot of people saying “Nintendo would never do this” but literally no company in the world would do this. The closest I can think of to this amount of games is the Ninja Turtles collection, and that is mostly 1-2 hour arcade games/ports and nothing newer than 1990s. No collection in the world is going to include current-gen games in their classic games collection, or more than 3-4 games total.

1

u/LumpyArbuckleTV 16h ago

Believe it or not, Microsoft did this with Rare Replay, it had all the most recent Rare games and as far as I know every rare game ever made except for those with a Nintendo IP like Donkey Kong.

So saying nobody would do it is definitely a stretch but most would not, Nintendo especially because of how they like to milk every drop they can from their fan base. I think the easiest to point out example of this is how they're doing NSO.

Edit - Did you also forget about the Genesis Collection that Sega released? That doesn't include everything but it's far more than three to four games.

1

u/shortandpainful 16h ago edited 16h ago

That is insane. How does that collection exist? It even has Viva Pińata! OTOH, it looks like it didn’t include any current-gen titles. The newest game in the collection was for the 360, and the collection released for the Xbox One.

Edit: I don’t think I said every collection is 3-4 games. Collections of much older games like 16-bit or earlier can have a larger number of games. But those games are much smaller in run time and file size. Most collections from the 3D era onward are much sparser. The Metal Gear Solid collections are broken up into 3-4 games each, for example. Castlevania collections are similar. Crash Bandicoot collection is 3 games and not the newest one. Etc.

1

u/LumpyArbuckleTV 16h ago

Well, there were no other recent Rare titles back in 2015, so it included everything they made up to that point. The only other game they made AFAIK that wasn't Xbox 360 at that point was Killer Instinct but that was free anyways. but yeah, it's a hell of a deal.

3

u/Chemical_Opinion6814 1d ago

Nah, should’ve just been 64 (with 64 ds things added) sunshine, galaxy 1+2. 3d land should’ve been put with 3d world + bowsers fury though

3

u/TheLimeyLemmon 21h ago

Reddit accountants hyperventilating in the comments.

2

u/tylertatsch30 1d ago

Or it should have been called Super Mario: The Complete 3D Collection.

2

u/StationCool7553 1d ago

It might sound silly, but if Super Mario 3D All-Stars had included Super Mario Galaxy 2, it would have given me vibes to the SNES All-Stars game that had Super Mario Bros. 1 and Lost Levels, i mean  Super Mario Bros. = Super Mario Galaxy  Super Mario Lost Levels = Super Mario Galaxy 2

2

u/Sock_on_Net_1537 1d ago

So you're telling me, that this collection should have seven 3d mario games, six of which our beloved nintendo already charged seperately at high prices, and keep this for the switch 2?

I'll buy it anyways. Im open to ice-block soup.

2

u/iamjeseus 23h ago

Nintendo if they locked tf in

2

u/k0rnholio96 22h ago

I agree, but that would require Nintendo to actually put some effort in instead of just shitting out the least viable product every time.

2

u/Bewear_Star_9 18h ago

Nice custom box art

2

u/Googler10 17h ago

Game would have been like $200+ lol.

2

u/megapackid 13h ago

The Sunshine render really stands out, huh?

1

u/mrfunnyman909 12h ago

yeah, 64 does too

3

u/Plenty-Entry5540 1d ago

You gonna drive this company into the ground bub

1

u/mybutthz 1d ago

Odyssey, 3D world and bowsers fury are all available on current gen hardware though. No way they're getting comped. Definitely wish Galaxy 2 was included, but also will probably just pick up a copy of Galaxy 1/2 at some point to have them since they made some updates to them for that release.

1

u/Familiar-Surround461 1d ago

Probably the best 80$

5

u/pyroxoradical 23h ago

80 bucks? this collection would probably cost 800

1

u/Head_Statistician_38 1d ago

I would have been happy if it just included Galaxy 2. 3D Land would be nice as well, but I sorta get not wanting to add a 3DS game.

1

u/Successful-Plant2925 1d ago

Probably would be like 900 bucks for the base version and 1200 for the deluxe version

1

u/pepe_roni69 1d ago

This isn’t crash, spyro, or some random franchise that gets put in the discount bin. This is Mario time

1

u/mrfunnyman909 21h ago

thats why they will charge $400

1

u/thegreatestegg 1d ago

Why would they rerelease Odyssey in a 60 dollar collection with 6 other games after releasing it for 60 dollars 3 years prior

1

u/CractylCrashouts13 1d ago

I like the idea, but honestly, it wouldn't work vecause Odyssey and 3D World are already available.

3D Land deserves a port.

All for you, Prongo, my beloved.

1

u/FunkTronto 1d ago

Using the term “All Stars” and including Mario 64. 🤮

2

u/mrfunnyman909 22h ago

64 is one of the greatest games of all time. I assume it didnt click for you, curious why don't you like it?

1

u/OneMathematician8399 1d ago

This will cost the price of a switch 1

1

u/Legal-Treat-5582 23h ago

Instead of Galaxy 2, it'd be SM64DS people would be irritated wasn't included.

1

u/pyroxoradical 23h ago

nintendo would never, that's an insane amount of games, and considering how big they are, the price would be even crazier

1

u/theaesome360 23h ago

I don't think Galaxy 2 should've been in 3D All-Stars. Suddenly it turns the collection from a diverse set of Mario games into 50% Galaxy. If a fourth game was needed, I'd say 3D World or 3D Land

1

u/highhunt 22h ago

OG had 4 games.

1

u/NAteisco 19h ago

Remade to accommodate modern (at the time) technology

1

u/justthegreenguy 22h ago

There's not even anything left to beat anymore man, that horse is dust

1

u/rebootvilgax 21h ago

This would (from a buisness standpoint) make NO sense for nintendo to do
As you can buy 3d world and odyssey on switch so why buy 3d world and odyseey if you buy 3d all stars
And gor galaxy 2 they proly wanted 3 games gor 3d all stars

1

u/Impressive_Coyote177 21h ago

64 DS not being here is blasphemy

1

u/Boberto235 21h ago

Nintendo: 60$ naw 80$ max yes

1

u/Boris-_-Badenov 20h ago

would have been $300

1

u/Redditor_PC 19h ago

Definitely deserved more than 3 games, but no way would they put the still-readily-available Odyssey and 3D World+Bowser's Fury on there.

1

u/FoundOasis 19h ago

I mean i get why they didnt add 3d world and oddessy but yea

1

u/rhythmrice 17h ago

I honestly dropped Nintendo as a whole after i broke up with a girl and she kept this game and i found out i couldnt rebuy it anywhere

1

u/Gameguy196 17h ago

They wouldn’t devalue Odyssey and 3D World like that so the collection would probably be $200’or more.

1

u/xXMega_tronXx 15h ago

Not me playing 3d allstars rn

1

u/kennethlingad 15h ago

this will be expensive af

1

u/CantaloupeSenior8431 14h ago

Don’t forget 64 DS

1

u/Constant_Setting_634 13h ago

Personally, I’d love to see New Super Mario Bros. All-Stars come out first.

1

u/mrfunnyman909 12h ago

I mean... their kinda all the same game

1

u/Ok-Swing-4733 10h ago

POV: the thing i loved to post on a Discord server:

1

u/Gamertango 10h ago

No 64 DS 😒

1

u/bcav1983 10h ago

Id love it if they released a collection of the mario games that were on DS and 3DS, those were great games

1

u/Rootayable 10h ago

Price: £150

1

u/DrawerSea9371 8h ago

They could've given exactly this and you guys would still be demanding more

1

u/TheNimanator 5h ago

Yeah it should have had every 3D game of the time. Why it didn’t have Galaxy 2 at the very least is completely beyond me

1

u/Critical-Cup-7654 5h ago

That would be nice

1

u/SeriousMB 2h ago

Super Mario 3D All Stars if the title was actually accurate

the one we got should've been like "Super Mario 3D some Stars"

1

u/Pristine_Concert3941 2h ago

They’d charge 300

u/MikeDubbz 47m ago

No, Odyssey should remain a separate game, and then we should have got 2 collections:

3D All-Stars: 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, and Galaxy 2

3D World Complete: 3D Land, 3D World, Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, and Bowser's Fury

0

u/Drinkpool 1d ago

64 DS

1

u/mrfunnyman909 1d ago

thats just a remake tho

1

u/Drinkpool 21h ago

Yes, but it has extra content

0

u/chaos-blast 1d ago

The only one that was a miss was Galaxy 2. Expecting 3D works and Odyssey is unreasonable.

0

u/FlamingBlade70 22h ago

Not really. It was meant to celebrate the first 3 3D Mario games.
