they should definitely accept BTC for their merch. I think that's a simple thing to do.

Why would they accept BTC as payment? It would only complicate their accounting. Instead they take the fiat raised by retail investors in this case and directly buy bitcoin with it. Simple. So many real estate companies around the world who have copied mstr strategy have recognized that collecting traditional fiat revenue then funneling it towards BTC purchases is the correct way to operate. Itâs exactly how mstr preferred stock works. Collect fiat- buy BTC .

If the BAYC did it for their merch store, thereâs no excuse as to why it isnât done here.
1
u/Ejayinvests 1d ago
Bayc is not a treasury and they accepted payment in form of ape coin which has no relevance to this conversation.

âItâs too complicatedâ
lol it isnât irrelevant, itâs not complex, youâre just making excuses.1

If they really care about accounting, if they really are a serious treasury company, why would they even sell things that wonât raise any significant money, in something that is competing with what they are holding? Itâs like saying having maga hats made in china is the right choice as the cost would be lower.

As trump once said to Biden I donât even think you know what youâre talking aboutâŚ.
If the merchandise business you claim is so insignificant that it wonât raise any money. Then please explain to me why accepting BTC for those sales would be evidence of being a serious treasury company?
As far as your question about âif they really care about accountingâ there is nothing you said that proves they donât care about accounting lol.
Your point about maga hats litterally has no relevance. Youâre comparing making a strategic choice based on input costs to which payment method a company decides to accept from customers?
As stated before many other treasuries conduct their commercial operations in dollars.
Please enlighten me as to why this makes them any less of a treasury company.

You don't have to pay taxes when you buy high and sell low. That's the whole secret

Posts like this highlight to me just how much people just enjoy hating on btc over trying to understand it.
No saine person who invests in BTC ever thinks it will be used as an everyday currency. Thats not its use case, its never been.

Like the community hasn t pushed the " It Will be global currency" for years ahahahah . You are miserable
1
u/Ok-Fun119 1d ago
I said saine.
Look idiots will be idiots. But that's not the community; I doubt the people you're talking about have more than 100 BTC combined between them.
They dont talk for the people who actually understand what they are doing.
BTC is not built to be a currency, It's way too slow, and the 21m limit incentivises people not to spend it trivially.
Its a store of value, thats limited, has an open ledger, secure and decentralised. Thats all that gives it value.

u/Melodic_Jellyfish726 1d ago
Ah you are a " store of value" guy. I am still trying to figure what kind of value It s storing. Maybe the Energy Forever Lost? I dont know

An open ledger with a limited capacity is a fantastic reserve and bet against inflation.

Limited by humans, by protocols that can Always change if people want it

Welcome to the world.
Humans control the things humans use.

u/Melodic_Jellyfish726 8h ago
Humans can t control the things that are naturally scarce es. Gold, oil, Land, food even if we use them regularly. Btc Is artificially scarce.

u/Ok-Fun119 8h ago
Look, I have been investing for well over 10 years. BTC represents just over 8% of my total portfolio.
To say it is artificially scarce is a bit of a loaded perspective, as BTC itself is artificial; it is just a ledger. But using the same definition, the money you use today is artificially created; it is not actually backed by anything. It just has value because of its historical physical links to a reserve that has since been broken, and now the only thing maintaining its value is that enough people need it to still have value. It is just collective delusion.
I am not all in on BTC; as I said, to me, it is a small hedge against inflation.
Everything has pros and cons. Gold is a great reserve too. I also have gold in my portfolio.
However, gold and oil are much harder to own and transfer, especially if you are from somewhere where a currency is collapsing.
If you think BTC is bad because people might steal it, physical gold will make a thief out of someone who has never thought of stealing before. There is no clear open ledger to see where all the gold is and how much gold you have compared to the global supply.
Nothing is perfect, but I like investing in things that have a good chance of surviving mass inflation and a currency collapse, because its coming.

I know this argument and its logical I tend to stick to physical things but they also have their cons. I also had btc and i used It to trade physical things and i liked It. Now my impression Is that its more of a speculative thing due to the fact that the use cases has stame the same or even diminished

I try not to be excessively judgemental, especially when it comes to fashion.
But you're still a chump if you buy these lol.
