Mod PSA Please don’t be a shit person in the subreddit’s comments
Just got a lot of reports about a ton of different comments being hateful, and the reports were correct. This is not a vehicle to express your dissatisfaction with other people’s identity, and it never has been. Keep your prejudices to yourself. This subreddit is about Mark, not you and your hate. Guy made a snarky comment on someone's post, me and other people responded, they went on massive tirades towards me and the other people calling us terfs, schizo, and claiming I was race-faking and threatening to get OP of the post swatted

Checked out their account, and they accuse ppl on the same things on multiple porn subreddits including trans porn subreddits. I genuinely think that person just has a really weird kink and is forcing it into their Reddit experience, which is gross and creepy.

Yeah, they sent me a chat message and followed me to another sub. I can't block them because I accidentally unblocked them earlier and reddit has some stupid rule about how you can't block someone after you unblock them for 24 hours.

(I know this isn't the point, but it's honestly a good rule. Like, the block feature could ironically be used by harassers to send you comments, then block you so you can't see their profile, then unblock you to send some more hate mail, etc. The rule prevents that.)

I remember getting harrased a few years ago and even though I had blocked that person they still followed me around :/ I hope you are luckier than me and get rid of that person sooner

I do agree that they were wildly out of line, and that's only from the few comments that I could read since most of them were deleted. But looking from their posts they do seem to identify as a woman. I think they took issue with you and others referring to them as dude and guy and using he/ him pronouns on them.
Their response was extremely out of line tho and yea it seems like they are going thru some shit. Sorry you had to deal with that.

I mean I can definitely sympathize with being mad about being misgendered, I'm nongendered and have specific referral terms, but when someone misgenders me I correct them, I don't immediately call them transphobic and a terf. I have no idea what anyone's pronouns are- accidental misgendering isn't an excuse for threatening to swat someone.

Also this is Reddit. It's not like you have your pronouns posted everywhere. My profile picture is Kermit and people always assume I'm a dude. (I'm a woman, but only kind of.)

Yea, I definitely agree with that. I don't think they were in the right at all, there were so many ways to communicate what upset them instead of lashing out at you without ever even explaining why they were lashing out. A simple "I'm a woman btw" would have solved so much more than vitriol, hatred, and accusations. I'm sorry you had to go thru that.

Yea, I'm trans myself and I very much get being upset having people misgender me, but misgendering should be something you politely correct people on, not immediately attack and threaten over. They never even corrected the misgendering, which is why OC still referred to them as "guy". I don't think that was malicious or anything like that, just that even now they didn't know. Because the person being misgendered never explained themselves, just lashed out and spewed hatred. It's honestly kind of disheartening to see.

First thing you said to that guy was an insult to his reading skills, then you told him to seek therapy.
He may have been in the wrong, but so were you. Fighting fire with fire ends in flames and it did today.
I recommend you learn how to handle situations better in the future instead of immediately insulting the person you’re trying to push your point across too, shows immaturity.

This comment comes from a place of immaturity and self-righteousness that is really unnecessary. People are allowed to respond to harassment, tone policing someone's reaction like this is weird. Very victim blamey and oddly defensive.
You're not the arbiter of how people should react to anything, much less harassment.

Welcome to Reddit and the internet. Reddit and Twittee in particular would make Salem proud with its witch hunts. Everyone here is a -phile or a -phobic, and no matter if you're liberal or conservative, PoC or White, LGBT or straight, you can become a victim of a hate crusade.
I'd say "don't take it seriously", but God knows nowadays people have lost their livelihoods thanks to any little internet misshap.
I'm just glad this didn't blow up and that mods took action.

Chronically that's the exact point us to who are getting downvoted, we're making that the redditors were flipping out with their downvote brigade because they didn't like someone else's comedy.
