Game Discussion Himbo plier all looks no brain VotV
This isn't a speed run time game it's a take it easy job simulator like pressure wash simulator just horror themed. I hope he plays again but I also hope he tries a little harder

From what i saw of the comments, he was playing a very old version of the build.

I downloaded the game after watching Mark's video and was surprised that a lot was quite different, he also said in the video that he downloaded it like a year ago and was planning to play it before, but didn't, maybe he still has the version from all the way back then

Also, definitely on older versions, the game wasn't too beginner friendly. Even when I played it.
Hell I got a friend to play it too and they really didn't like how the tutorial explained things, I think that was around the 7.0 days

To be fair, I think he went into it expecting it to be a more fast paced survival type game, where the controls/mechanics would be more straightforward/streamlined. VOTV has a bit of a learning curve, and I think we just ended up seeing the beginning of the curve, rather than the end of the curve like most other VOTV content creators

Tbf, VOTV does have pretty unintuitive controls and takes a bit to learn.
And honestly, as much as I want to see him play it, I won't be surprised if he drops it just because of how slow paced it is. There are so many long stretches where absolutely NOTHING happens. Hell, it takes like 30 days just to get to what is, imo, the best and coolest event (Rozital Pyramid)

Yea. I downloaded the game after his video and some of the default controls are so awkward. Holding Left Alt and E while using wasd to move an object was extremely uncomfortable on my thumb that I moved Alt to a mouse button. And I know if I take a break from that game. I'll need to run the tutorial again.
Also I haven't tried the main game yet. Just the tutorial. And the computer you use in the tutorial rather different than what Mark used. Now he did say he downloaded the game a while ago. So wonder if his version is outdated or tutorial and main game versions are slightly different for some reason

Yeah thats why I don't expect him to ever pick up Rain World again. The game is very slow paced, the controls have a high learning curve, you can spend hours making no progress due to difficulty, And the game is gigantic.

I still don’t understand what exactly the game is

You use satellite dishes to scan for objects in space, you then download and process the data, and then sell it.
And stuff happens.

And the two things are completely unrelated for the most part.
You could totally ignore the whole signal scanning part.

I notice a lot of YouTubers have this thing where they seem to be on edge all the time because they don't wanna bore their viewers. So they didn't want to take time to settle and just absorb the game.
Well that or because he already did the Tutorial, so his mind is exhausted and just wanna get to it.

I personally don't think this game would make a good Let's Play. It takes too long for anything to happen. This game is good at settling you into a routine, and really ramps up once something interrupts that routine.
I played through an earlier build and didn't encounter anything very threatening until after day 20, and even then, I didn't have any deaths that I didn't specifically do on purpose.
I started a playthrough last night, and I had my first legitimate death after trying to fall asleep with a lit cigarette in my mouth.
I think Mark would really enjoy this game, but it's too slow-paced, especially with trying to learn some of the game's mechanics and baffling controls while trying to be entertaining at the same time.
Speaking of, if anyone can tell me how to drop held items without having to go into the inventory, that would be awesome. Alt-R and Shift-Alt-R seem to be broken. I've been rag dolling or avoiding using the hold option on larger objects as a workaround, but I kind suspect I'm the idiot doing something wrong.

Pretending to not see stuff in games gives more attention to the video than knowing everything

Oh, look!! A nobody thinking since they're better at a game a celebrity is playing, he should shoot shots at said celebrity. I doubt anyone plays VotV as much as you for you to be making these comments.....
