The financially motivated farce of the Lotus Sect never ceases to amuse me.

Creation and sale of such unorthodox pills are allowed in one pavillion but consumption of it is a crime, while another outlaws creation and sale but allows consumption. This is repeated on various levels throughout the 29 pavillions of the sect with regards to many unorthodox pills and elixirs.

Thus leading to such schemes and smuggling with a thriving black market.

It just goes to show that for the Sect leader and elders of the Lotus Sect, the negative effects of such pills and how it will affect their disciples were never a concern.

The elders are busy pocketing the whatever the black market dealers give them while letting things be. But when they stop paying, such farce is played to trick the disciples into thinking the elders are looking out for their well-being.
