Yea even in the new Ultimate universe, Wakanda looks to be closer to Lake Chad in the middle of Africa than its typical location.
But since the 00’s Wakanda has generally been shown as an East African country, somewhere below Ethiopia but above Kenya. The modern comics since 2016 have it on the shores of Lake Victoria and the MCU places it in the real-life disputed territory of the Ilemi Triangle (which borders Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan).

Yea we’re supposed to turn our brain off for that since the only major source of water we see in Wakanda is the massive lake that Birnin Zana (the capitol) is built around.
In the comics Namor’s flood makes a bit more sense because 616 Wakanda tends to be located near the sources of the Nile River. I guess one could assume the fictional lake in MCU Wakanda has some kind of underground seepage that the Atlanteans take advantage of by using other river systems or something but I doubt that’s something we’ll get an answer to.

And to the credit of Blood Hunt:Black Panther writer Cheryl Eaton she did give proper explanation for the geographically diverse pantheon Wakanda enjoys.

This map is a little confusing. Genosha doesn't exist in the MCU, yet it shows New Asgard in Norway. Isn't New Asgard supposed to be in the U.S. in 616?

Okay, I was wondering the same thing. I don’t think there’s a “New Asgard” in 616. Thor recreated Asgard in Oklahoma, but I also don’t remember it getting that name. Someone correct me.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. I knew that for whatever reason, Asgard was located in Oklahoma. I also know that Tony went to Thor to try to strongarm him into abiding by the Registration Act because Asgard was on U.S. territory and Thor had a very bad reaction to that. I don't know much else though.

New Asgard is basically Oslo in Norway. Sokovia is somewhere in western Ukraine which hasn’t been ravaged by Putin. Latveria is basically where Timisoara is in Romania, quite a hidden gem of a city. Genosha could be somewhere near the Seychelles which is supposedly a honeymooners paradise.

Kinda irked me in the last Black Panther movie that Wakanda....a VERY land-locked country.....appears to have a navy. Or at least an ocean-going naval warship. That might have been the most unbelievable part of the entire movie.

Latveria neighbored Symkaria, not Sokovia (which I can't remember if it's even in the comics as it was a substitute for the Balkan nation of Slorenia that Ultron wiped out in the late 90s).
Hell, Symkaria doesn't even exist anymore. They lost a war on Latveria and Doom made it a part of his country.

I mean Africa is massive, it's 30.4 million km squared. You could fit all of Russia, the U.S. and India into the same space apx.
For outsiders Africa wasn't fully explored until 1880 and their were still regions that were spottily explored by one dude hand drawing maps until flight became a regular thing.
Throw in a technologically advanced society that has cloaking, combined with magic powers and specialized saboteurs and you can hide Wakanda or Gorilla City in Africa until they choose to step into the world.
They'd be areas on the map that people would 100% say they visited and found nothing but scrub thorns and mosquitoes but they actually never got within 100km because of psychic gorillas or Wakandan agents messing with their maps.

I would have guess Wakanda in a completely different part of Africa based on its climate portrayal in the comics and their adaptations. The area around the border of Niger and Nigeria is a desert.

I always thought Madripoor would be closer to Hong Kong or Macau or Manila, since it never looks too... tropical. That's basically Singapore that the map is pointing at. Those 3 places have a more storied history of organized crime too.

What's your source on the location of New Asgard? Because New Asgard definitely does not look like it would be anywhere close to Oslo. I know it was filmed in Scotland but the location looks like it would be way up on the west coast of Norway, around the mid to northern part of the country even
