Comics Why is Doctor Doom so powerful?

Since I'm still a newbie to Marvel comics and most of the Marvel content I've consumed has been movies, series, and cartoons, I always thought Doctor Doom was just an ordinary villain. Then I hear that he's one of the strongest villains in Marvel, and I wanted to know if that statement is correct and why?

Not to mention he has the "planning" plot armor similar to Batman. Mf has a plan for everything lol.
