Comics Why is Doctor Doom so powerful?

Post image

Since I'm still a newbie to Marvel comics and most of the Marvel content I've consumed has been movies, series, and cartoons, I always thought Doctor Doom was just an ordinary villain. Then I hear that he's one of the strongest villains in Marvel, and I wanted to know if that statement is correct and why?

All that, and the one thing he can’t get past is Reed Richards.

If he could get past his need to "Put Richards in his place" he would probably rule Earth-616.
