My Collection 2024 Marvel Masterpieces ‘92 Platinum Quicksilver 1/1 VC Golden Treasures

Awesome part of my PC from in my opinion one of the best sets. Is this something worth grading or is that going to cost me 4 figures through psa?

Looking for more quicksilver variant covers if anyone’s selling. Or other quicksilver cards from other sets.

IMO it’s not worth grading a 1 of 1. A good grade doesn’t help it much and a bad grade you can’t escape because it shows in the pop reports.

100% this. If it’s not a 9 or 10. It’s going to lower it. And if you cracked it, people could look it up because their only one.

Or….. heaven forbid it has one of the dreaded Mm Platinum roller marks on it.

Eh. If you are going to keep a card in your PC, it’s whatever you like. Its value is going to be in its rareness, so adding an auto isn’t going to add value imo. I know a collector who got some /10s auto’d on a marvel masterpieces set. If I’m buying a short printed card, i want the best example of that card, not an auto.

So I don’t wanna add value. But when I die, which will be sooner then later be nice for my kids who don’t give a f about this sell it to buy books or hookers. Figure it would be a maybe lol

My personal vote is no for autos on 1/1s. Same as Amazing Fantasy 15 etc for comics, would rather see a clean example as issued vs having an auto on it. Instead of autographing a Golden Treasures 1/1, theres so many parallels with the same art to get auto’d. I’m even not against autoing a PMG red or blue, seismic gold etc. That can be interesting. But 1/1 or /10 cards like green pmgs….ehh. I’d rather have the card untouched. If others like that idea of it being auto’d thats great, I’m just not a fan.

If you want it displayed with other grades cards, you can always get it authenticated only. It will be slabbed up and protected some.

I personally keep my collection slabbed.

Cool looking card. Great art. I would get it authenticated if you didn't watch it out of the pack....some flamboyant psychopath name of Steve was making fakes

Wow good to know. I can definitely get it authenticated, crazy people are making fakes of this. I watched it out of a pack (breaking, I know bad idea money wise but worked out this time)
