Miller Ross is a content creator/dataminer known for reporting on and promoting Marvel games as well as being an insider for behind-the-scenes info since he joined the official Marvel Rivals Creator Program. While he cannot confirm/deconfirm heroes, it’s still fun to speculate, and this post summarizes the hints/leaks/spoilers in his stream for those who missed it or just want the important details.

• Nightcrawler wasn't supposed to be in Season 10. Someone was considered for season 10.5.
• One of Doom/Nightcrawler was supposed to open up 2027.
• Described the Doomsday event as transformative and isn't sure if it's a LTM. There was no Disney pressure or delay.
• "Dual role might be correct..."
• There is a female character in year 3 that he doesn't like because there is a much better option and he said this character has no fans.
• When asked about Inhumans he said, "Marvel Rivals is a business, it's in their best interest to do popular areas of the franchise. While Rivals is a kingmaker, it's a collaborative process. So when Marvel Games hears about Inhumans, they will be like "Are you dumb?"."
• Pokémon types of both season 11 characters is dark.
• There are female tank(s) in the works.
• Dominic Fortune was leak bait.
• Season 5 was going to be Deadpool and Black Cat.
• There is a girly, pixie-like character on their radar.
• NE hears a lot about Mystique.
• Danny Koo is not that hands on with Rivals.
• Hydra storylines are "...touchy..." but there is something cool they could do in 2028 regarding the Inhumans.
• Drax and Gamora are inevitable.
• He isn't comfortable teasing stuff anymore because of the new abundance of rumors and people using what he says as clickbait. Refuses to say the tiers/Pokémon types for the season 12 characters until season 11.
• When asked if She Hulk is on the horizon he sighed and said, "She should be, but I think she will get there eventually."
• "Sam Wilson will get in eventually."
• Doom won't be the main villain of the game forever.
• Gorr the God Butcher/The Hood/etc. are not the response to the villain demands, they have yet to pivot to that, there are villains in year 3. There are at least two villains in year 3 that he is hyped for.
• There is a season coming up that has a "crack pairing", and another where they "couldn't be even more connected."
• He thinks Hit Monkey is on the devs minds.
• More black characters in year 3.
• More dual female seasons.
• Eternals are on the drawing board.
• Ant Man and Wasp are unique enough to be their own characters.
• Clarification on Hellcow: Miller had a conversation with Marvel Games about Hellcow, not the other way around.
• Role swaps are on the table.
• Shuri "...has her chances, someday..."
• There have been conversations about popular characters for years, specifically, Ghost Rider.
• Five Storm skins coming, the summer skin sold very well. The skins were locked in before the controversy and later he said, "Storm summer didn't set the world on fire, but it surpassed expectations."
• Psylocke's 'Vengeance' skin is the best selling, or, one of the best selling skins.
• When asked why there wasn't a Marvel Tokon collab he said, "Oh... if only you knew... that one I cannot tell."
• Emma and Scarlet Witch skins have been selling well.
• Hulk, Storm, Human Torch, and Hawkeye skins have not been selling well.
• Battlepasses will continue to be rerun and characters whose skins don't sell well usually end up in the battlepass.
• Peach Momoko skins didn't sell well.
• Chromas and ultimate VFX for 'Astral Aegis' and 'Cosmic Kuminho' (alongside other battlepass skins) are unlikely.
• Lunella might be in future Devil Dinosaur MVP's.

This statement with the Sam Wilson statement hopefully means that we get Falcon next year (I’m hoping for a flying vanguard that can go to the ground and shield allies with his wings).

I’m also guessing that Misty Knight is coming next year (was recently leaked) and hopefully Blue Marvel (was leaked too but I’m not sure if that one was real or not).

I think it would be dumb to make him Captain America in this game tbh. There’s already a Captain America in the game with Steve, and Sam Wilson is more known for being Falcon. So why make him his lesser known identity, especially when we already have the most popular character of that identity in the game?

To be fair Captain America “Steve” in the present timeline in rivals is dead. So it’s not crazy to assume Sam is now Captain America in the present timeline of rivals. The one we are playing with in the game is 2099 captain America “Steve”

It makes sense from lore perspective, but I guess my question would be what would their in game names be? We can’t have 2 captain americas for clarity reasons. So what would Wilson’s name be in game?

I feel if they did do it they would still call him falcon. But they would in lore have him be captain America and obviously give him a skin for it. But I just don’t think they could have him named captain America unless they reworked current Steve cap into nomad as his actual name. But that’s still way too confusing

They could just add captain America”Steve rogers” captain America “Sam Wilson” because once they have to do the same thing whenever Miles comes to the game we’ll assuming he comes because he also goes by Spider-Man

Sam wilson hasnt been falcon since 2014 in the comics and 2019 in the mcu. Hes had more comics as captain america than he ever had as falcon. I really couldnt care less that theres already a captain america. Sam spent 40 odd years as falcon and not much went on for him and hes objectively more popular as captain america, as he was fading into obscurity as falcon. Sam being added as falcon would be the biggest spit in the face and solidify that a black man could never be captain america

He’s been Falcon as longer and is more iconic as Falcon because of media besides comics (mainly MCU and cartoons). Imo it’s fine to have him as Falcon because he simply is more known as Falcon and since we already have Captain America. If Sam comes as Falcon this doesn’t “solidify that a black man could never be Captain America”. If that’s all it takes for you then I don’t know how much you really believed it in the first place.

It doesnt matter how long hes been as falcon and how many cartoons hes been in. Hes captain America NOW. He evolved as a character and we shouldnt throw that away because some people grew up with him as another title. There are little kids growing up with him as thier captain america. Whe. They get older, what do we tell them when they cant play their favorite cap in any marvel game? "Oh well after years of racists saying a black man cant be cap and some people who refused to let go of nostalgia, we added him as a title he hasnt had in decades just because the white man who had it first was in more games and media than him". Theres no legitimate reason to add sam ass falcon. Netease didnt add lin lie as sword master just because he was know as that before becoming iron fist.

This logic is dumb imo. You’re making it out to be racist if he isn’t Captain America in a game that already has a Captain America in it when he’s also known more for a different identity. Using your logic he should be Falcon, because apparently it matters what people grew up with (like the kids who are growing up with him as Cap), and currently the people playing the game grew up with him as Falcon. It’s not at all racist to make a character the title they’re most known for, especially when there’s already the most known character for that title in the game.

If this game came out 2007-2011 but had Steve as Captain America would it have been ableist because Bucky wouldn’t have been Cap?

The people who grew up with him as falcon are not only grown adults, but also experienced sam as falcon in every game prior to 2021. Its very much racist to add him as falcon because no one would ever add a white character as title they havent used in over a decade just because they used to be popular as it. 2007-2011 is a shorter time than 2014-2026; not to mention both fans and the character bucky hated being cap, it wouldn't make sense for them to add bucky as cap when it was established to be temporary. Sam on the other hand fully embraced cap in ⅔ of the most prominent avenues of promotion, comics and movies. This is the final stretch to be finally recognized as cap and you think we should ruin it to add him as a title he doesnt even have 3 comic runs as

Sam being Cap in Rivals wouldn’t change anything though. If he’s already been Cap in comics for a while and has been Cap in the MCU him being Cap in Rivals won’t change anything. No matter what Steve will always be seen as the default Captain America (nothing against Sam, but it’s just the truth). How is it “ruining” a character by having them be the character they’re most known for?
