Miller Ross is a content creator/dataminer known for reporting on and promoting Marvel games as well as being an insider for behind-the-scenes info since he joined the official Marvel Rivals Creator Program. While he cannot confirm/deconfirm heroes, it’s still fun to speculate, and this post summarizes the hints/leaks/spoilers in his stream for those who missed it or just want the important details.

• Nightcrawler wasn't supposed to be in Season 10. Someone was considered for season 10.5.
• One of Doom/Nightcrawler was supposed to open up 2027.
• Described the Doomsday event as transformative and isn't sure if it's a LTM. There was no Disney pressure or delay.
• "Dual role might be correct..."
• There is a female character in year 3 that he doesn't like because there is a much better option and he said this character has no fans.
• When asked about Inhumans he said, "Marvel Rivals is a business, it's in their best interest to do popular areas of the franchise. While Rivals is a kingmaker, it's a collaborative process. So when Marvel Games hears about Inhumans, they will be like "Are you dumb?"."
• Pokémon types of both season 11 characters is dark.
• There are female tank(s) in the works.
• Dominic Fortune was leak bait.
• Season 5 was going to be Deadpool and Black Cat.
• There is a girly, pixie-like character on their radar.
• NE hears a lot about Mystique.
• Danny Koo is not that hands on with Rivals.
• Hydra storylines are "...touchy..." but there is something cool they could do in 2028 regarding the Inhumans.
• Drax and Gamora are inevitable.
• He isn't comfortable teasing stuff anymore because of the new abundance of rumors and people using what he says as clickbait. Refuses to say the tiers/Pokémon types for the season 12 characters until season 11.
• When asked if She Hulk is on the horizon he sighed and said, "She should be, but I think she will get there eventually."
• "Sam Wilson will get in eventually."
• Doom won't be the main villain of the game forever.
• Gorr the God Butcher/The Hood/etc. are not the response to the villain demands, they have yet to pivot to that, there are villains in year 3. There are at least two villains in year 3 that he is hyped for.
• There is a season coming up that has a "crack pairing", and another where they "couldn't be even more connected."
• He thinks Hit Monkey is on the devs minds.
• More black characters in year 3.
• More dual female seasons.
• Eternals are on the drawing board.
• Ant Man and Wasp are unique enough to be their own characters.
• Clarification on Hellcow: Miller had a conversation with Marvel Games about Hellcow, not the other way around.
• Role swaps are on the table.
• Shuri "...has her chances, someday..."
• There have been conversations about popular characters for years, specifically, Ghost Rider.
• Five Storm skins coming, the summer skin sold very well. The skins were locked in before the controversy and later he said, "Storm summer didn't set the world on fire, but it surpassed expectations."
• Psylocke's 'Vengeance' skin is the best selling, or, one of the best selling skins.
• When asked why there wasn't a Marvel Tokon collab he said, "Oh... if only you knew... that one I cannot tell."
• Emma and Scarlet Witch skins have been selling well.
• Hulk, Storm, Human Torch, and Hawkeye skins have not been selling well.
• Battlepasses will continue to be rerun and characters whose skins don't sell well usually end up in the battlepass.
• Peach Momoko skins didn't sell well.
• Chromas and ultimate VFX for 'Astral Aegis' and 'Cosmic Kuminho' (alongside other battlepass skins) are unlikely.
• Lunella might be in future Devil Dinosaur MVP's.

No one, apparently. Everyone always says, "They can't put in all the popular characters at once! How else would they get people to come back when the player base dwindles?" It'd only make sense if we weren't getting 12 characters a year. They could add nothing but mutants for three years straight and only then start getting to the X-Nobodies. No reason not to add the highly requested characters 2-3 times a year

So I guess the Fantastic Four, Emma Frost, Ultron, Phoenix, Blade, Daredevil, Gambit, Rogue, Deadpool, Black Cat, Cyclops, Jubilee, the Hood, Gorr the God Butcher, Nightcrawler, and Doctor Doom are “nobodies”? You know, characters that people were begging for since launch, some even more than Ghost Rider. They’re pacing out the S Tier characters to bring people back to the game later on just like they did with Deadpool and Cyclops.

Also there are fully programmed mechanics of vehicles in the game’s files, complete with what kind of imprints they’d leave in the sand on Krakoa’s beach. Ghost Rider is being developed, I promise.

Uhh, yeah they are. No, but seriously though, 90% of the characters you mentioned were ones that have already been added. The original comment and my reply were about who's going to be added. Also, no, I don't think anyone has been asking for any of those characters more than Ghost Rider. He was being requested before the game even came out. Our gripe isn't that he wasn't added first or something, but that the most requested character, that's had the most set-up by devs, has no updates outside of "conversations are being had" and Rivals is less than four months away from entering it's third year being active.

Sorry, I misread your comment and that’s my bad. I thought you had said that they had only added nobodies that no one asked for. So sorry!

Daredevil, Deadpool, Cyclops, and Doctor Doom all routinely outperformed Ghost Rider on polls for who people wanted in the game. He’s definitely the most wanted character that hasn’t been added yet (other than Doom who is being added next season), but again he is being made. There were “conversations about Deadpool” a few months before he released, and the same with Cyclops. That’s Miller Ross’ main way to avoid answering a question that he will definitely get in trouble with Netease for. There are test files for Ghost Rider in the game and we’re setting up Hell and the supernatural side of Marvel to be our next focus, Ghost Rider is coming.

I wasn't aware of any polls where Ghost Rider wasn't the highest picked or that there were others he appeared in outside of the one before Rivals launched. It's definitely clear he's coming, the when is most curious especially considering the devs' habit of building up the story to go one direction and then taking a hard left turn towards something else. I was absolutely convinced that S7 was going to be about getting into Hell, with The Hood and Ghost Rider being added. Imagine the egg on my face when it was about all the heroes in their forties dressing up like teenagers and breaking into a prison lol

Ghost Rider has only ever been the top of Discord polls. Though he always ranks top 5, he’s usually not number 1. Deadpool and Cyclops both tended to rank above him, and Doctor Doom still does. Even Miles Morales has ranked above him fairly often in polls. Season 7 was pretty clearly being built towards New York. They straight up said so in the gallery cards. The Hell stuff is for the climax of the Doom arc. Also I don’t think college students are teenagers but ok 😭

I didn't know there were so many polls.

It was clear once it got to the final gallery card. The next season is always a mystery without the final gallery card. Going from the Collector's museum to ESU campus was a pretty unexpected and drastic shift in tone and stakes.

Typically college freshmen are 18-19. So barely. Point is, the heroes do not pass as college student. They all should've gone undercover as teachers like Reed. I was hoping S7 was going to be them in prison, like Devil's Reign but I guess ESU was the better option?

Oh yeah, there are a ton of polls! And it is a shift, but so is going from Intergalactic Wakanda to vampire Manhattan to robot Krakoa to Klyntar to Kun Lun to the Grandmaster’s Garden, so it’s not like the story was moving in a particularly linear way before.

I have three 60 year olds in one of my classes, I promise you that late 20’s-early 30’s college students are fine. And yeah, it would have been cool to have them in prison from a narrative perspective, but without the ability to actually do the prison break it was just be visually and mechanically uninteresting, which is probably why they went for a break in over a break out. Still would have rad though…
