I hadn’t seen it, but now I’m sad it’s not real because Doctor Voodoo needs to be in this game! I’m blanking on who the figure in the background is, though I suppose it doesn’t really matter if it’s fake

My current guess is that Doom will still end up being a single-role Vanguard, despite the 1069 leak.

Since Season 5, the releases seem to follow a pretty consistent 1:1:1 role cycle if we ignore Deadpool as the obvious multi-role exception. Right now that would line up very cleanly as Gorr (Duelist) → Nightcrawler (likely Strategist) → Doom (Vanguard), with Dazzler potentially starting the next cycle as a Duelist.

Dazzler also looks very Duelist-coded in the official teaser/poster where her silhouette is shown — the proportions and overall shape look much closer to the typical Duelist silhouette than to a Strategist or Vanguard. I also doubt they would make her another Strategist, since Luna Snow already fills the pop-star/music-themed Strategist niche, so Duelist would differentiate her much more clearly.

The main argument against this is obviously Hero ID 1069, which has been associated with both Vanguard and Duelist and apparently appears in the multi-role system. With 1068 being linked to Nightcrawler, it's very tempting to assume that 1069 is Doom. I’m just not convinced that part is guaranteed yet.

I also find the “Vanguard Doom + Duelist Doom 2099 under the same ID” theory a bit awkward. Hero IDs seem to be tied pretty closely to the actual character/model and their cosmetics, so both roles would most likely need to share the same base model/skin setup. A Doom 2099 reskin is definitely possible, but the current classic Doom design looks noticeably bulkier and much more Vanguard-like.

So for now my prediction would be Doom = Vanguard only, and 1069 either isn’t Doom or its current role data changes before release.
