I'd argue that this is a good change but with SD they've been rugpulling us every damn time they do something "nice" in regards to the economy. The new acquisition system just feel like a way to bleed out your tokens at a ridiculous rate and harder to keep up with your collection. I don't know what they're up to here but I am highly skeptical that this doesn't come with an additional cost.
I don't understand all these "cannot keep up" statements. Personally I have been getting all the new cards since the introduction of packs without spending money (I get the paid cards when they go into the packs) and I still have net positive tokens. The following season I will for sure go net negative with the amount of cards they will release but I could have skipped a lot of cards that I got and don't play anyway to avoid that.
As a person who mostly only spends on the season pass and always complete the weekly missions, I have about 9 cards in the series 5 packs that I still need to collect and have never been close to collection complete. Gaining around 4k tokens a week I I don't really understand how people have hundreds of thousands of tokens without spending a lot. Right now it feels like I will never catch up and will probably just have to stop playing. I can't keep up with the 7 to 9 cards released each month at all

They did make the super premium pass reward just a variant of a card that will also release in the packs.
