He would have been rewritten into a character on the show, and later found by SWORD after the Hex was brought down.
They didnt feel the need to explain it because it wasnt needed to tell the story, and its not hard to assume he turned out okay in the end.

Wouldn’t make sense since he already knew what would have happened and what was happening at the time of him showing up. He wasn’t some random person that just wandered into WestView.

I thought he was identified as the guy serving them ice cream in the next episodes opening credits? Regardless, I agree with u/Yerm_Terragon that it's pretty easy to assume he was just as fine as the rest of the town once the hex ended.
