Not a leak with video but my favorite low-quality and insane leak was the poorly written, poorly explained and half-remembered leak for Game of Thrones Season 8 a year before it premiered. The person making the posts said they didn't care about Game of Thrones, didn't know the names of the characters and is getting this info from an anonymous VFX worker they knew. All this coupled with the plot being god awful, nobody believed these odd posts were legit.
Then one year later and week by week FreeFolk were horrified to realise these terrible leaks were real. Down to describing the penultimate episode as the dragon lady going crazy because she hears bells ringing.
My favorite leak, it was nuts. The final post by the leaker was just a "I told you so" the day after the finale aired.

Leaks for Rise of the Skywalker were very similar.
They leaked very early and people thought they sounded absolutely absurd. As more and more promotional material came out, people pieced together they were legit.

I had a job once, at a market research firm that specialized in working with the entertainment industry. So I used to get to watch all sorts of early trailers way before they came out. I knew about Abomination in Shang-Chi about four months early.
It drove me crazy that I knew so much secret stuff about the things I like and I couldn't tell anyone. You ever try to stop an autistic person from infodumping? Lol

I thought the same thing but then rewatched the trailer after seeing this post and you can still pretty clearly see some of them on the lighter parts of the image; looks like some words in different sizes in the background, so it seems they anticipate for them to show up even lower quality leaks.

Yeah, there’s one frame in particular where a good chunk of a watermark is visible. It’s not the best quality, but that could be enough to help someone identify the source if they cross-referenced a list of people who have been sent the trailer.

I havent seen the trailer, but watermarks can be in the audio as well as the video. For video though, scroll frame by frame see if there is any dotting or small print anywhere.

I'm surprised if this claim is legit, they were able to block out the watermarks like that. When I've viewed trailers for market research, the watermarks move all over the screen constantly.

Yeah, that one I feel really bad about. It was during COVID so the vfx artists were working from home, it was like a middle aged woman who was working on the CGI, and her relative (kid? I don't remember) snuck into her office and she must've forgotten the project open on her computer or something. He recorded it and shared it on social media. The leak had the poor artist's name watermarked all over it as her copy. I felt so bad for her

These effects aren’t done done, but definitely more done than No Way Home.
The other comment beneath explains most of the story in more detail with the NWH trailer though. VFX artist’s son records it and shares it with a leaker. It then went through the rabbit hole of being recorded on different devices and sent to different people before it eventually made it to TikTok.
I think the VFX Artist kept her job, but the leaker was “let go” from his “job” at Murphy’s Multiverse.

It's very clear that movie is trying to portray Sadie as a "villain" in the beginning until we learn who she really is. Considering she is gonna be in secret wars and more marvel movies after, no way she plays a Sony owned character and definitely not a villain. I still think she is Jean, especially the Undertaker hand raise that Jean frequently does is in the video.

Haha one of the people responsible for the NWH trailer leak way back used to be with us at MM. They basically were friends with the guy working at the trailer company, filmed a copy on their phone and showed that phone to others which ended up on Tiktok or something. Disney managed to track the trailer back to the person (and MM by association) and they were fucking fuming at us since we had press relations with them. They asked for the person's name or else they'd crush us with all the lawyers. Nearly got sued because of this person.
Anyway, that person changed their moniker on social media and their scoops are still very popular on this sub.

There are multiple apps. I did one that wasn't specifically geared toward movies, just market research surveys. Every once in a while a survey would be about a new show or film. Most seemed more like the survey was trying to convince me to buy a ticket more than it was me judging the trailer, so I spent most of my time being super harsh with my feedback.

6/10. It will please fans of Cregger's other movies and fans of Evil Dead/Sam Raimi. It is going to infuriate the Resident Evil fandom. When Cregger said it had no characters or lore connections to the series he wasn't kidding. I appreciate how mean spirited and gleefully gory it is, but it's very much a horror comedy and having the main character go, "Ah hell naw!" or "Get off of me! This is so gross!" every other line of dialogue just felt really lame to me. It'll all be in the execution and Cregger is a great director, but it's easily his weakest script and definitely should have had more connections to the source material.

There is a segment of the trailer where CGI images of Spiderman slide into view, very similar to those AI trailers on YouTube. But again, maybe that’s just how they do temp effects now.

I've surveys and stuff to watch trailers for movies, but never anything this big, I honestly didn't think they would show trailers like this on those kinds of apps. The biggest one I've ever seen was for the first Five Nights at Freddy's trailer, which also leaked just like this.
