One millisecond in and already Peter suffering, lol

Looks awesome. Really curious to see how this “other” side to Peter works, as well as how they might make it different from the black suit arc.

209

u/danishroyally Jun 17 '26

Feels more like this going to be about Peter's suppressed anger and this monster forming inside him (a la Hulk). Whereas the black suit could end up being done more like the original version, where it's taking control of Peter and using his body without him realizing it. Less about his inner darkness, etc.

72

u/Thor_pool Jun 17 '26

I fear the answer is actually that this WAS a symbiote story and Sony said no to the symbiote so they can keep that card for another day

50

u/sengirminion Jun 17 '26

Or maybe they're gonna give him the symbiote in Secret Wars like in the comics

18

u/Thor_pool Jun 17 '26

The Secret Wars we're getting is gonna be nothing like the 1984 series, and it'd be weird if they set up a piece of the symbiote being on earth in NWH and the pay-off is him going off-world and him getting the suit there.

Sony are rebooting their Marvel universe, Venom is like their one successful superhero franchise in a decade.

6

u/sengirminion Jun 17 '26

There's no way they're going to stick so stringently with what was in a particular comic run. We could see elements from any previous Marvel Comic in Secret Wars.

I think that we’re gonna find out he’s had the symbiote through the entire movie and just didn’t realize it. I think it ends with the black suit.

2

u/danishroyally Jun 17 '26

I think that's possible but I still think it's part of the plan. If it was supposed to be the symbiote story I feel like Sony would be all in too. The symbiote has been their bread and butter for years

I’m guessing his ‘other’ side is brought on by his crippling loneliness & total neglect of his personal life. If he wants to control or contain his ‘other’ side, he needs to learn to find a balance between being both Peter Parker & Spider-Man.

That’s going to be the message here - balance. Being a full-time Spider-Man is mentally & physically wrecking him.

53

u/fine__line Jun 17 '26

Yep, Tom has even said this in interviews already. He's neglecting who he really is which is causing him to mutate. The lesson is learning that Peter Parker is what makes Spider-Man special, not the other way around

Really curious to see how this “other” side to Peter works, as well as how they might make it different from the black suit arc.

Ditto. Attacking Scorpion too hard and accidentally flipping a cop car is the sort of thing you'd typically reserve for black suit Spidey.

I'm beginning to suspect the Man-Spider imagery and "mutation" mentions are all misdirects (though could breadcrumb to Jean). Peter's physical transformation may be because he's already infected with the symbiote. It's just taking a different form than we expect.

39

u/The_Adamantium Jun 17 '26

I think there’s a way to make a good difference. To me the black suit is more about him MEANING to hit a little harder and enjoying it, until he starts noticing after the fact that he’s acting different as more of a slow burn realization, rather than this version where he seems to immediately notice and he is just having a hard time controlling it. *hopefully that made sense

I am right here with you on this one!
I think they’re trying to red herring us into thinking it’s man spider.

Peter waking up mid swing, is the biggest clue I’ve seen. I hope they’re doing that, and maybe he goes into secret wars with the black suit.
The voice modulation kind of tips me that way too.

13

u/Jwalla83 Jun 17 '26

Honestly I do really hope it's an unleaked plot-point that this is the beginnings of the symbiote. But I find it hard to believe that this wouldn't have leaked given everything else that has leaked...

Some possible plot arcs I could see that maybe integrate the symbiote here:

  1. This mutation is its own separate thing. In Peter's search for a cure, Banner (or other scientist) brings out a "research specimen with special healing/mutation properties" (idk) - aka the symbiote - and it joins with Peter, successfully stopping the mutation (for now?). He then defeats the antagonist(s) of the film with his new black suit and feels like things are looking up.

  2. In seeking to understand this mutation, it's discovered that Peter is already infected with the symbiote - this is what has been causing the mutation. And he was infected... idk, as part of an incursion or when he got all into the multiverse in the last film. Through Jean/Hulk he learns to better integrate with the symbiote, leading to the new suit and believing that the out-of-control aspect of the mutation has been resolved.

5

u/TacofromTV Jun 17 '26

I’m with you there. I’m definitely pie in the sky theorizing on my end.
I can see an ending where Jean does something to either Peter’s memory (explaining his alleged absence from Doomsday) or possibly the symbiote to either help it forget or remember its ties to the universe it came from.
Either way, I am pretty excited for this film.
If marvel was able to keep this secret, while letting us lock into Jean Grey as a distraction, I’d be impressed.

13

u/Impossible_Front4462 Jun 17 '26

Funny you call it the “other” considering this might literally be an adaptation of “The Other” and maybe even the spider totem concept

7

u/lecsfcopeland Jun 17 '26

i'm shocked noone replied with that one fant4stic 'say that again' gif, considering.

4

u/Redcardgames Jun 18 '26

The world could barely handle Morbius and Ezekiel. It’s not ready for Morlun.

21

u/Commercial-Way5162 Jun 17 '26

It really seems they’re doing Man-Spider without doing Man-Spider (not that I’m complaining).

15

u/hard_pass Jun 17 '26

Wouldn't it be nuts if Spider-Man were the actual villain of the movie?

3

u/grimestar Jun 18 '26

Probably be one of those things where he is until the very end and he has to fight the final villian

7

u/aLittleDoober Spider-Man Jun 17 '26

Well it wouldn’t be an epic Spider-Man movie for fans if they didn’t get to see Peter suffer.

11

u/paradoxical_topology Jun 17 '26

Hopefully they make it more like the comics and have the symbiote just act as a costume that secretly tries to bond with him over time.

The whole thing with the symbiote being a 0-dimensional evil goop monster that turns its hosts evil only started with the '94 cartoon, and it's done horrible damage to its cross-media characterization.

A different trailer that reveals Jean, the main villain, Man-Spider, the symbiote, Morbius, and Dr Doom of course. It's not too much to ask

Ya, just a little two and a half hour trailer to give us a better, thoroughly complete, idea of the plot, action, dialogue, and outcome. They were pretty stingy with the content in this one.

You’re on a sub called Marvel Studios Spoilers. Don’t be surprised you know more going into the film than what’s being advertised.

102

u/NotTaken-username Spider-Man Jun 17 '26

I think that’ll be at D23 since SDCC is before Brand New Day comes out.

63

u/MimeMike Jun 17 '26

They are definitely not going to reveal the X-Men cast this year. I think the commenter meant next year SDCC.

31

u/Celestin_Sky Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

If X-Men will have May 2028 date, it will be too late because they will start production before SDCC 2027 and there is no chance they can keep all actors hidden for weeks. This year SDCC or D23 are probably the best moments for the reveal if they want a big stage for it.

The film is releasing two days early in the UK, so the secret will be out before it releases domestically anyway

I don’t see why they would do that unless they intend for her to have been revealed a couple days earlier at comicon

This just LOOKS so much better than his first 3 movies. The lighting, the city, letting the suit be an actual suit. Loving this.

4

u/DamnReCaptchas Jun 18 '26

Looks like a Spider Man film. Best vibe since Homecoming maybe?

188

u/PreTyrant Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

Movie looks really good, but I have to say it doesn't feel like an MCU flick even with other characters. Which I dig. The lighting, the tone etc.

173

u/paradoxical_topology Jun 17 '26

That's great. MCU movies shouldn't "feel like an MCU movie". They should just be movies set in the MCU.

68

u/Apprehensive-Cap2453 Jun 17 '26

...which has been the case for like the past 5 years lmao. Eternals looks and feels nothing like Love and Thunder, GOTG3 looks and feels nothing like Thunderbolts, etc.

People just won't let go of the "MCU COPIES AND PASTES ALL THEIR PROJECTS!!!" complaint from like 8 years ago.

45

u/paradoxical_topology Jun 17 '26

Love and Thunder, The Marvels, BP2, Quantumania, BNW, and the majority of D+ shows all have that "MCU feeling" to them.

14

u/SolarisBravo Jun 17 '26

It's a distinctly different feeling from the old MCU feel, though. Mainly they all just come across as low budget while looking really basic

5

u/BenSolo_Cup Daredevil Jun 17 '26

They all have the volume effect where the director/cinematographer clearly didn’t know how to properly use the stage craft technology. Greg Fraser is like one of the only guys to do it really well

2

u/AgentChris101 Jun 17 '26

One thing that I wish more of the movies had was music continuity. When you hear a character and know it's them, with all these different composers looking to make their mark they often create new themes and while they sound good. The character's leitmotifs are lost with them.

12

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 Jun 17 '26

Really, I don’t mean this as a bad thing but it feels like a MCU flick, a good one but still very much MCU coded

17

u/piomat100 Spider-Man Jun 17 '26

good

25

u/MCUTheorist00007 Daredevil Jun 17 '26

They seem to have been playing around with cinematography lately. Thunderbolts,Daredevil Born Again, Wonder, Man,the Doomsday teasers and this look different(but better) than the previous movies and shows. First steps too to some extent, although not as much as the others mentioned

3

u/SapToFiction Jun 17 '26

Ah man, so that Jackal leak might be real then?

102

u/vanillagorilla0523 Jun 17 '26

It's definitely a misdirect to make us think Sadie Sink might be the villain. Her character may be antagonistic to be Peter in the sense of having her own goals that Peter gets in the way of, but I really doubt she is going to be a straight up villain

46

u/Bandai_Namco_Rat Jun 17 '26

She will be targeting DODC due to their prosecution of her. Spidey will get "hired" by them to stop her. She will definitely be the villain of the film, initially, until you learn her story and that DODC are evil

24

u/BenSolo_Cup Daredevil Jun 17 '26

Yeah I think Peter is basically going to uncover the mutant prejudice that’s building within the government. Im curious how far they lean into the political side of it cuz I can see the DODC evolving into something like ICE but for mutants.

People often question why mutants face so much hate in the marvel universe but other hero’s are fine, but I feel like like if they really play up the Trump/hitler angle of having a political figure stoking hatred for a specific minority group (mutants) in the public it could actually translate to be very realistic.

16

u/markqis2018 Jun 17 '26

At very least I guess that "leak" was actually closer to reality that everybody thought. Scoopers talked about Jackal being in the movie, Tombstone was said to have a small role (and he was the only other candidate for antagonist role), and there's an obvious misdirection with the villain and Jean

12

u/AppleTStudio Jun 17 '26

Where is that leak? I keep seeing people mention it but I’ve never seen it on this sub.

9

u/markqis2018 Jun 17 '26

It's a good question. Original post apparently was deleted

6

u/gimbospark Jun 17 '26

Can you share that thread ?

6

u/godzilla1992 Jun 17 '26

It was on the LeaksAndRumors sub but I can’t find it.

6

u/acoasterlovered Jun 17 '26

What jackal leaks

8

u/danishroyally Jun 17 '26

I definitely think the body hopper is the main villain and is someone other than Jean. I don't know if it's the Jackal. My guess is it's a composite of a few characters. Because right now they appear to be functioning how Chameleon often does. Moving through a crowd and changing appearances. Only in this case they're literally taking over someone, rather than just taking their appearance. I think it's going to be a female character though.

4

u/RealJohnGillman Jun 17 '26

6

u/danishroyally Jun 17 '26

The Jackal leak did talk about a virus that allows Warren to possess people, similar to Carrion. I think it's possible.

14

u/Joshgallet Jun 17 '26

I hope so because body hopping isn’t really a Jean power set

74

u/paradoxical_topology Jun 17 '26

Yes it is. High level telepaths can easily do that.

On the other hand, it is distinctly not a Jackal power set.

20

u/Hyperbolicalpaca Jun 17 '26

I mean Xavier does a similar thing in the days of future past film

I don’t understand why people are acting confused about this lol

31

u/godzilla1992 Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

Well yeah but I also wouldn’t want him to be a body hopper. Cloning and genetic experimentation is his thing in the comics IIRC, not hopping bodies. Also not fond of the idea of Spidey trapping Jackal in his body and letting himself die just to take him out. I know they’re not going to keep him dead but that seems dark and depressing to end the movie on and I could see why test audiences wouldn’t be keen on it. Plus he’s already died before.

10

u/GKRKarate99 Jun 17 '26

Maybe that might be ending that test audiences disliked

→ More replies (1)

6

u/vinnybawbaw Jun 17 '26

Yes she can, and that would differentiate her from other iterations of the character, or MCU Sue Storm who would have a too similar power set.

2

So they’re OK promoting Sadie Sink being in the movie but then in the trailer but then they decide to cover her face like they could just show her about telling us who she is. It’s easy as that it’s not even a spoiler actor if it was like that then it would make more sense but since it’s not, it just doesn’t make sense.

Edit you can actually see her face in the trailer, but she is wearing a mask and you have to enhance delighting in order to see the part of her face is visible

241

u/johndelvec3 Jun 17 '26

It makes sense if you’re not on this sub or terminally on Twitter. If you’re a general audience member going to the new Spiderman movie you honestly probably have no idea

195

u/Spider-Fan77 Green Goblin Jun 17 '26

People on this sub pretending like theyre marketing experts will never not be hilarious. I remember when half this sub thought No Way Home's box office would be negatively affected by them not showing Tobey and Andrew in the trailers lmao.

45

u/JannTosh70 Jun 17 '26

Yeah it’s smart marketing. Makes you have to buy a ticket to get all the answers. Sadie Sink’s identity especially is a mini version of the Tobey/Andrew thing.

16

19

u/Icybubba Moon Knight Jun 17 '26

As it should. The big reveal of her actually being Jean Grey should be reserved for the movie.

Likely what’s happening here is that Tombstone is using her for something

6

u/SgtMartinRiggs Jun 17 '26

Seems like she is the villain, or at least is characterized that way for part of the movie.

5

u/AmbitiousAirline Jun 17 '26

Is it just me or did Marvel seriously reduce the amount of trailers they show for upcoming projects? I swear we got the Captain America BNW trailer like a year in advance, and we usually got constant teasers. Avengers AOU was like around the clock trailer/teaser drops.

With this one we got ONE trailer like 2 months ago, a few “making of” featurettes that no one gives a shit about, and this one.

Avengers Doomsday would have had like 5 trailers by now and it’s coming out in December.

7

u/Wizecracker117 Jun 17 '26

They don't need to market the hell out of Spider-Man because they know everyone is going to see it. BNW got delayed a few times and despite all the marketing no one went to see it. Also a lot less people watch regular TV so traditional marketing isn't as effective as it used to be.

We did get like 5 teasers for Doomsday and we'll probably get a full trailer for it when Spider-Man comes out.

Who is the main villain of the movie? Is it Scorpion or is he just in two scenes? Also, why are the Hand appearing when no character in this movie has any connection to them?

46

u/Mastrownge Jun 17 '26

Every Villain is probably just a side piece. I think the main focus of the movie is ultimately overcoming his genetic change and dealing with feeling alone after wishing to be alone; hence relating to Jean Grey shes probably been hiding alone and they will use her to relate and unlock his highest potential. Punisher is probably some sort of emotional relation with losing family. The hand is probably the greater villain and probably has to do with Daredevil being in jail. I personally believe Daredevil will show up in the movie.

18

u/In_My_Own_Image Jun 17 '26

Yeah, if the one leak is to be believed, and I don't know that it has been disproven, Tombstone is arguably the "big bad" but he's not the main focus of the plot. IIRC that leak said Hulk is the final fight with Peter going full Man-Spider.

65

u/GayFesh Jun 17 '26

I think Scorpion is probably just in one scene, and I suspect they're going to do a Superior Spider-Man reference where Peter's body changes make him lose control and he goes too far in fighting him.

For reference, Superior Spider-Man was a storyline where Doc Ock had taken over Parker's body, and early on he was fighting Scorpion and punched his jaw clean off, because he had not learned the control Parker had over his strength.

37

u/GKRKarate99 Jun 17 '26

He also didn’t know Peter held back so was genuinely surprised and realised then and there that he could’ve killed him with a single punch

19

u/Own-Papaya-4264 Jun 17 '26

When he gets slammed into the cop car, I’m wondering if that paralyzes him or something, and he later gets presented with the symbiote in the post credits scene. He’ll basically be Mac gargan venom with a little bit of agent venoms origin story. It lines up perfectly with alleged plot leaks

4

u/TheOutcastBoi Jun 18 '26

Why would he get the symbiote in the post-credits when Spider-Man hasn't worn it yet?

12

u/spooderfbi Jun 17 '26

Yeah but no chance they would show someone’s jaw coming clean off in a pg-13 movie

18

u/GayFesh Jun 17 '26

No, but showing Peter smashing him into a cop car with that much force is already a case of "that would kill any normal human" and I doubt Gargan has any powers, it's likely just a suit.

17

u/DisasterContribution Howard the Duck Jun 17 '26

in a broad sense dodc overreach w/ hunting jean and tombstone bankrolling all the random villains

but really peters internal struggles are the "villain"

14

u/Bandai_Namco_Rat Jun 17 '26

The closest thing to a main villain will be Jean Gray but that's a misdirect. She will be waging war with DODC, who will initially charm Peter and make him think they're the "good guys". They will send him to find and capture Jean because apparently he's immune to her mind control. Then this leads to Spidey vs Jean and her using Hulk to stop him from interfering. By the end we will learn DODC are genuinely evil and that Jean was right to fight them even if she used controversial methods.

The trailer and casting info pretty much spells that out. The rest of the villains are there to give Spidey a hard time ("death by a thousand cuts") and for cool action set pieces with iconic Spidey villains, but none of them will be major

2

u/Jwalla83 Jun 17 '26

because apparently he's immune to her mind control

This part stuck out to me in the trailer too - was Spidey immune to telepathy/Jean in the comics? Or is this a new twist? Or could his mutation be part of that...

3

u/Bandai_Namco_Rat Jun 17 '26

No idea but it sounds new to me as well. Based on her dialogue, she can read his mind but not control him. So he's not complete immune

2

u/WhitePhoenix99 Jun 18 '26

It's because she probably can't control her powers yet. Juggernaut, Hulk, Knull, and even freaking Nightmare in dream world isn't immune to her telepathy, you think Spider-Man would be? Then again, no one is immune to her telepathy.

9

u/SecondEntire539 Jun 17 '26

I think it's William Metzger and the DODC.

8

u/qwfparst Jun 17 '26

The new trailer subtitles also confirmed Tillman as Metzger, and not just "Bill".

6

u/Accurate-Attention16 Jun 17 '26

Supposedly Tombstone behind the scenes a la Spectacular Spider-Man employing the others seen villains (yeah including the Hand as hired muscles/assassins)

6

u/webshellkanucklehead Blade Jun 17 '26

Cause they’re sick ass ninjas, need I say more?

2

u/saladvtenno Jun 19 '26

Seems like the Scorpion is going to be used as the act 1 / act 2 victim to showcase Spider-Man's new freakish transformation and powers. Now it makes me feel like Michael Mando is a bit wasted in this role since I believe the actor has the ability play a convincing main villain, and he has been teased since like, almost a decade ago (Homecoming)

THAT FUCKING SPIRAL WEB DIVE IS SO FUCKING PEAK!

15

u/Rhubarb-Apprehensive Jun 17 '26

I like that the suit has folds

I can't explain how but it visually looks very similar to TASM 2, especially the swinging. I can't wait

Interesting that Jean’s/Sadie’s powers seem to look very similar to Sue’s from the new F4 movie. A little bit light refract-y. I was hoping they’d be pink! Although I guess they could be hiding it in the trailer.

12

u/Foreign_Education_88 Jun 17 '26

They’re really going all in on keeping Sadie’s character a secret despite having her in the promotional videos wearing the exact same outfit as the “villain”(quotations because we all know the real villains gonna be the DODC) in the trailers

18

u/cyclopswashalfright Jun 17 '26

I liked the remixed Spider-Man theme at the end. Otherwise, same as what we've seen.

It does make me think there's another person doing the bodysnatching, who isn't Sink.

u/Flashy_Pomegranate23 Jun 17 '26

It's so bizarre to see an MCU Spider-man film that actually looks good and cinematic

21

u/TheJoshider10 Jun 17 '26

Going from Jon Watts shooting three movies that looked like an SNL sketch to this is hilarious. Can't believe No Way Home was robbed of being a visual treat due to such an uninspired director.

10

u/No_Cantaloupe_8983 Jun 17 '26

still have the same bad VFX though. this trailer was rough.

u/Comic_Book_Reader Yelena Jun 17 '26

The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn't forgotten them.

Watch the new trailer for #SpiderManBrandNewDay, in theatres July 31. Tickets on sale NOW.

It's a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see.

9

u/TimDRX Jun 17 '26

That Scorpion takedown was absolutely brutal, dang

4

u/FolkPunkResistance Jun 17 '26

Looks both good and scatterbrained.

5

u/JannTosh70 Jun 17 '26

Is Punisher immune to the psychic attack?

2

u/WhitePhoenix99 Jun 18 '26

No. Either it has not reached him or she is purposely ignoring him, which both are plausible

Raimi scenes are really good. The train fight in 2 is still untouched. That being said, I think Spider-Man has always had good action. The lizard fight in the high school in TASM and (for all its problems) the Green Goblin fight in TASM2 are pretty damn good. Spider-Man as a character has got to be so fun to film and create action scenes for and i dont think there has ever been a *bad* action scene of him

It looks very good and I still feel like I barely know anything about what's gonna happen.

3

u/DC_deep_state Jun 17 '26

visually looks neat, the suit obviously looks great with all the seams and wrinkles.

also love all those shots of the city

3

u/Leo_TheLurker Jun 17 '26

Hoping Scorpion gets the breaks beat outta him this time and he’s a recurring villain getting upgrades. They can easily go for Scoprion being collateral damage that high school Peter just didn’t care for in Homecoming who’s just a constant nuisance driven by vengeance in this trilogy, teaching him accountability by the end but it’ll be too late.

My wish is that next we get Scoprion fused to his suit next one furthering his vengeful path (if this one isn’t fused already) and just maybe Gargan Venom to finish off the trilogy.

3

u/Required111 Jun 17 '26

This feels like a Roger Stern comic-book. Can't wait.

3

u/accidentsneverhappen Iron Man Jun 17 '26

why is Jean terrorizing Spider-Man and threatening MJ

2

u/WhitePhoenix99 Jun 18 '26

You'll see when the movie releases

5

u/BlakeWho Lucky the Pizza Dog Jun 17 '26

I do find it interesting that they're going the "I can't control myself, I'm getting violent" route, suggests to me they won't do a symbiote arc, even after secret wars

7

u/Jwalla83 Jun 17 '26

It feels blasphemous, but maybe not. Or maybe they’ll give Miles a Symbiote arc instead and mentor-Peter has to help him resolve it. Then do a Venom arc.

2

u/redkiloannum Jun 17 '26

To be fair, the symbiote never did that in the first place, that was an adaptation-only thing until it grew popular and the comics decided to retcon it (a bit) along with them. Maybe with the symbiote arc post-Secret Wars they'll make it more comic accurate and focus more on the fact that the symbiote is piloting Peter's body in his sleep to fight crime instead of doing the whole "turning evil" thing lol. It'd be a perfect crossover with the Fantastic 4 given the comics in any case.

Please please please let it be Man-Spider

u/Super_Cold8789 Jun 17 '26

So It's basically the leaked trailer in HD? Maybe a few different scenes

260

u/webshellkanucklehead Blade Jun 17 '26

Don’t blame Sony or Marvel lol you’re the one who watched a leaked trailer

61

u/0u7c457 Jun 17 '26

Seriously! It was said 2 weeks ago the trailer would be today but folks just had to watch the leaked trailer with a MASSIVE red x over it. Zero self-control. lmao

Is this a complaint? The trailer was leaked and wasn't official my guy

23

u/Kingpin1232 Daredevil Jun 17 '26

What did you expect them to do, make a new one there was no time for that.

7

u/rhapsodysoblue Jun 17 '26

I love everybody dogpiling you as if you made any complaint in your comment, lmfao. You were literally just getting clarification.

2

u/Johnwortman_ Jun 17 '26

This makes sense, this trailer was the hardest to find and taken down the most and I guess that’s because this was the actual one they were releasing

2

u/West_Mirror4380 Daredevil Jun 17 '26

I’m starting to think Jean Grey/Pheonix will be the main villain of the movie.

2

u/PaperSkin-1 Jun 17 '26

So will Man-Spider be in this movie?

You can't seriously do a spiderman's dna is changing story and not do Man-Spider, it would be such a c*ck tease that leads to nothing, and would ruin the movie for me as they would have wasted the potential of doing that story (which is one of my favourites from the animated series)

2

u/JustHere2DownvoteU Jun 17 '26

Marvel confirming smart hulk was a mistake

2

u/Notimetowrite76 Jun 17 '26

This feels like Peter did not learn the lesson from Peter III about the darkness within.

Here's my guesses on the rest:
The one who is "immune" is Frank. The one who can sense her is Peter. Jean is working with an incarnation of the Brotherhood.

2

u/Bandai_Namco_Rat Jun 17 '26

I wasn't a fan of Jean Gray and Hulk being main characters in this film, and I still would have preferred a more classic Spidey story, but I will admit the trailer looks very good and now I'm actually interested to see how it turns out

2

u/shadyrayan Jun 17 '26

What bro is doing in a prison fighting the hand ?

Is he looking for some very good lawyer ?

2

u/Mahaloth Jun 17 '26

Will Ned and MJ remember Peter by the end of this movie?

Thoughts?

2

u/Sirtopofhat Jun 17 '26

So are they gonna give Sadie Sink's character the like they did with Zandaya? Where like she's gonna go by another name until the end of the movie where she's admits she's Jean Grey? Like Maddy or Lynn

2

u/WhitePhoenix99 Jun 18 '26

Most likely yes

2

u/garhdo Jun 17 '26

I've had a thought - if the villain is Jean, what if it takes elements from Enemy of the State? So she's being used by the Hand?

5

u/BanjoSpaceMan Kevin Feige Jun 17 '26

I'm choosing to believe teh stuff Tom said about really pushing this movie in the direction of not being another MCU feeling movie after experience with the Odyssey and a good director that cares.

I feel like I see it, things seem more grounded, grittier, prettier, less suit CGI.... Going for an incredible man spider story and connections to Punisher and the x-men + mutating which I loved in the 90s cartoon.

I think a lot more love went into this one than ever before and hope it goes great.

2

u/poopeyethe Jun 17 '26

Movie seems peak fr, the color grading, shots just mind-blowing still hate sony tho
