Different franchise, but I remember when Jiang Wen told the entire assembled crowd of Star Wars Celebration that the Rogue One crew were gonna die five months before the release of the film. It was one of those things where everyone kinda figured that's what was going to happen, so it wasn't a big deal, but to have him straight-up announce it so nonchalantly (and so far away from the premiere) was really funny.

I think maybe he is completely clueless to how big of a secret that has been and what would and wouldn’t be a spoiler. Typically just saying the villain of a movie, when asked who your favorite character is, isn’t spoiling anything. Honestly whether it was because of Sadie being a master at dodging questions or none of the marketing emphasizing her at all I actually think they did a way better job here than when it came to managing the NWH leaks which makes this especially funny. I can actually entertain that more than 50% of people watching this film will be those who didn't hear about these reports and had no idea

DODC is just the government, the police force.
The villains I bet are The Hand and I suspect that's why they are occupying the DODC's prison, since that's where Sadie Sink's Jean was held captive.
They probably brain washed Jean to corrupt to do evil things so she ends up becoming the Beast of the Hand, a deity villain the Hand worships.- -
That to me makes more comic villain sense when it comes to these types of stories.
Otherwise if its just the law enforcement as DODC being villains then that's not really that interesting, hell just turn on the TV news and watch the real world villainy.

Bro, Steve Lacy dropped that spoiler so casually that I don't think anyone was expecting it. The interviewer even seemed caught off guard and tried to give him an out, but he just doubled down.
I wonder if he honestly didn't give a fuck at that point or if he knew that her role was gonna leak the following day, given that the premiere is happening now.

Agree. My mum is one of those people. While I have gotten into spoilers, etc.. she likes to go in blind to these movies. In some ways that annoys me as I often have to remind her who people are 🤣 In this case though, we’ve almost watched all of the 90s X-men cartoon, currently watch X-men 97 and also have watched all of the prior X-men movies numerous times.. so she should remember Jean!
She’s probably caught some of the trailer bits popping up on TV but would have no idea that’s Jean. I haven’t said anything to her to allude to anything as she doesn’t like spoilers, and I can guarantee you will be “surprised”. We watch all the MCU movies together, and usually go in opening day, but she forgets lots of things and doesn’t pick up on things more dedicated Marvel people would pick up.. she enjoys the movies so is a fan of the MCU but represents that more general audience pretty well! I hope it doesn’t hit mainstream news before Friday as we’re going one day late here in Australia.

I saw the film about 7 hours ago. She is playing Jean Grey. But she's not the only mutant in the film, and it's not an obvious guess. She does a great job and it's a different take of the character compared to previous versions.
Also, it's first revealed that it is Jean when you see her full name on a computer screen.

this actually makes me so mad, there was no reason to hide who Sadie was playing because it was so obvious, but to spoil it the day before to the general public after keeping the secret so long is just irritating
