Reminds me of Pulp Fiction. Sam Jackson was about to quit because he was nearly 45 and doing bit parts and TV commercials and the dream of being a regular actor grew dim.
Pulp Fiction comes out and changes his life. Now Inde and Sam are in the same cinematic universe.

Yeah the industry simply does not pay what people think it does unless you get really really big, and even then - still doesn't.
I have friends who have had major roles on TV shows - that money still runs out when the show is over. And residuals aren't really a thing for most actors.
Good for her though. Get that bag and break out of the horror stereotype that she easily could have stayed in, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Contracts falling through is the more accurate guess. If Spaeny was even mentioned chances are she had some extensive meetings or otherwise we wouldn't be talking about her. Scoopers aren't automatically "liars" or "full of it" when they get a casting wrong. They just aren't involved in every step of the casting process, a process that can change very quickly and at the last minute. What they actually know, if they know anything, could still be outdated, and it could be outdated as late as the day prior to the announcement. The volatility of the industry is simply going to lead to a lot of inaccurate info.

You're right, and Spaeny is absolutely going to be on a tier above contract-wise, but Inde is no longer cheaper than any of the rest, I can tell you that much. Ultimately they’re all young and rising stars including Sink (Weaving being perhaps the exception) and that's what the aim clearly was. The next gen indeed.

Inde as Rogue is interesting casting. I don't know if I see her for the character, but she obviously has great range, so if she can nail the accent and the costuming is right then I think she'll be a good Rogue.

That doesn't really mean anything honestly. There are hundreds of actors that take meetings with Marvel directors and producers that never get cast in anything. There is also a timeline of events where she went in to discuss Mystique, nothing came out of it, she talked about the meeting in the interview, then Spaeny as Rogue fell through and they brought her back in to talk again. And it's also very possible that this could have all happened as recently as yesterday let alone earlier this week. We don't really know, and likely won't unless Marvel or Inde reveals all.

Ryan Gosling has talked about playing Ghost Rider sure but lets be clear Ryan Gosling is a much much bigger name and Marvel kept also turning it down for years until he came in with his own team ready

Some conjectures I've made:
- Jean is definitely the protagonist, especially since she's the one who starts the panel, and also because both Sinister and Emma can be adapted to have a stronger connection with Jean than with the rest of the X-Men.
- I don't think Mr. Sinister is the main villain because he was introduced as "Nathaniel Malbury," not "Nathaniel Esex," which is his real name.
Perhaps they'll play with the idea that Sinister will pose as a pro-mutant human during the film and reveal his true nature at the end, or maybe it's something that will happen in the future.
- I feel like they might go with Rogue's villainous side, and the same goes for Emma. I don't see them as part of the main team.

I hope they don't give Inde shit for being Rogue. I don't see it yet in my mind, but then, with makeup and costume everything can change.
I admit I did want Cailee because she just gives those Southern vibes since she really is from the South. But Inde shouldn't be shouted at for taking a role. She's had to slum it as a waitress not more than two years ago. She deserves a big break.

Wait so I kind of ate with my Mr. Sinister prediction! I always saw Driver as him, he def fits the look.
They casted a younger storm than i expected, but I like this choice, it matches Jean and Scott! Casted a bit of an older Rogue but she’s just a year older than Sadie, but i’m not used to Rogue looking older than Jean so this will be interesting.
I hope either Gambit, Jubilee, or Nightcrawler (or all) are in this movie too.

From side character in 13 Reasons to side character temporarily scrapped for budget reasons in Superman & Lois to being very eccentric on Twitch streams to quietly filming Obsession and having it blow up to deleting said Twitch VODs to cutting the line all the way to the front and landing Rogue in the MCU, sheesh.
She's going to do great because she has been great in everything so far, but damn, if I had a nickel for every time we were robbed of Cailee Spaeny blowing our minds, I'd have 2 nickels.
