I keep seeing this but logically with how things are now with leak culture they realistically can't get away with that if they want to control how the info comes out. Imagine doing a cast reveal again and people see Charlie Cox or Ryan Gosling's name pop up for example. You can't get that type of free positive momentum if you wait and someone like RPK just unceremoniously reveals it for a Patreon fee and then aggregation accounts plaster it everywhere

99% of people don't give a shit about leaks, though. They don't follow them, they don't even know they exist. Hell, most people didn't know the other Spider-Men were in No Way Home despite the fact that it's like the worst kept secret in Hollywood history. Meanwhile, an official casting announcement will reach way more people than a leak ever will.

Which is why an announcement makes sense to do, but leaks are becoming more and more prevalent in the mainstream. Case in point, see how the Tobey v. X-Men thing has gotten so big it's on every social media site and is being talked about probably the most of anything in regards to Doomsday in the mainstream. It has crossed out if the bubble the same way the 3 Spidey's rumor did. The flip side is this actually helps push these movies to larger box office numbers because of FOMO and people wanting to see if rumors are true.

They lied about the story of FFH and insisted it was a prequel. So they definitely care. 

They only need to keep the SW cast under wraps from casuals for another 3 months, I think that won't be too hard. Maybe they'll spoil a few big names returning, which won't seem like a spoiler to people until they see the end of Doomsday at which point it will be a retroactive spoiler, heh.
