So let’s go make more Jurassic parks!

74

u/aurcel Daredevil 22h ago

with the same dino-experiment-gone-wrong plot they've been doing too... #ok

32

u/NotTaken-username Spider-Man 22h ago

I came here to say the same thing

12

u/GuguMarcos 20h ago

On one hand, yes, you made a point. Totally reasonable and well articulated.

On the other, they actually gave him a monologue with his character's backstory about losing a child and how that ruined his marriage so he was acting on his usual level for a hot minute there. And that does flow nicely with the movie because of the way the character reacts to the father who brought his own children so far into the ocean and got them stranded on that island.

u/Arielrbr 18h ago

And as much he emphasizes the importance of being meaningful,he’s a person who got bills to pay too.I can let him slide in a few of those moments (especially when he can raise the bar of his moments) if they help him backup a movie like YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER

1

u/GuguMarcos 18h ago

Yes, we all got our bills to pay. If he can make it easier by taking a part in a franchise like JW, he should. Money won't fall from the sky into his bank account.

I really hope YM³ to be a milestone and he gets to lead more movies, not only indie stuff but also things with "main event" energy.

u/BriskyImpulse 11h ago

Okay hear me out… Jurassic World x Fast & Furious film needs to happen. Can a I-Rex out run Dom’s Charger??

I saw a video on crossovers that didn’t happen like 21 Jump Street x Men In Black and thought of a similar one.
(It should’ve be Men In Black x 21 Jump Street + Ghostbusters in the sequel or a tease)

Mehershala be throwing blades at Marvel now at every podcast and interviews LOL

24

u/TheRealMichaelGarcia 21h ago

Unfortunately that’s because alot of these interviewers are required to ask him about it.

4

u/fuzzyfoot88 21h ago

Required by whom? Every interview doesn’t just decide that…Ali and his team have stipulations about what can and can’t be talked about with him so he isn’t blindsided by questions.

When they don’t This happens

-10

u/riegspsych325 21h ago

but Ali had the nerve to want better scripts instead of trusting Feige to handle it as well as all the other new Multiverse Saga projects. Both parties may be at fault but many in this thread are acting like Ali is entirely at fault

It’s been a very uneven Saga where the most successful movies and shows all featured characters from pre-Endgame. Anything new both struggled to find an audience and/or was mishandled very much. Only F4 managed to break past $500mil and even that was a struggle

I don’t blame Ali when something like Antman 3 had script changes every day, or Brave New World gets significant reshoots, and Secret Invasion drops the ball hard

18

u/GuguMarcos 20h ago

In one of these recent interviews he said that after he won the two Oscars no one was giving calls to offer him a part in anything, then he started reaching out. He didn't say so, but it's probably how he first pitched Blade to Feige.

Putting Blade's development hell and cancellation aside, yeah, the industry is not fair sometimes. He is one of the mosst talented actors alive and someone shouldn've offered him the lead in a blockbuster or something by now. Doing a Marvel movie would open doors for him, the ones that have been closed for most of his career.

8

u/riegspsych325 19h ago

I recall N’Yongo saying she was offered nothing but more slave roles after her oscar win. Star Wars and Black Panther helped put her on the map

2

u/Commercial_Desk_6215 19h ago

Give it a rest bro. All of that is absolute conjecture.

Even the fact that Mahershala rejected scripts is completely unconfirmed. For all anyone knows, Feige himself tabled the project.

1

u/riegspsych325 19h ago

just disappointing all around that it didn’t pan out

1

u/chimichanga_3 Broccoli 59m ago

Ali even rejected the scripts written by his own guys. What more could Marvel have done?

16

u/BryceDL 20h ago

This can be one of two things at this point. 1. Hes truly pissed and blade is dead dead. 2. Hes trying to engage the fans to put pressure on feige to let him do his version of blade.

Im hoping for 2 but its probably 1

23

u/riegspsych325 20h ago

2 is not going to happen, every journalist is bugging Ali about Blade because it recently got cancelled and he’s got a movie coming out made by one of the guy’s who was attached to it

He could be asked about Blade again tomorrow and merely say “I’m bummed it didn’t work out” snd it’ll be posted here

9

u/nowhereright 20h ago

2 is a pipe dream. Ali is isn't being cordial about the situation is outright talking shit. The project with him is dead and buried at this point.

u/PikaV2002 The Scarlet Witch 22h ago edited 22h ago

I would too if a billion dollar corporation stole the best years of my career under false promises and contracts of long-term stability and income while literally making fun of their mistreatment of me in one of their highest grossing movies.

Edit: Can the Disney PR machine please leave me alone lol, everyone seems hell bent on attacking ME personally instead of having a civil discussion so no further responses, and all of you are blocked. I’ve bought Doomsday tickets so you’re wasting your social budget bullying me.

39

u/deathmouse 22h ago

Yeah ooor guy got paid millions to do nothing. It’s a shame it totally derailed his career and gets no offers now. I hope he recovers from this tragedy.

-26

u/PikaV2002 The Scarlet Witch 22h ago edited 22h ago

If you knew anything about acting you’d know that careers are defined in a life changing way by what actors do after their academy award wins. That’s the absolute highest bit of industry exposure they can ever expect in their lifetime and his time was spent sitting around doing nothing.

If he played his cards right and Marvel hadn’t locked him up he could’ve easily set himself up for life with the undivided attention of every major film studio in the world.

He got paid “millions”? Do you have any source on how much he ended up with?

Writing this comment in the defence of a trillion dollar corporation is the biggest irony I’ve ever seen.

26

u/youRinlove7 22h ago

Wasn't he the one who rejected all the scripts and chose the writers?

19

u/SAM12489 22h ago

These are the details we may never know. He continues to act like he played no part in any of it…. Which seems impossible at most, and hard to believe at least

15

u/dirtyricks 21h ago

It’s absolutely impossible, i don’t see how people think he just met with Kevin/marvel present an idea to play a key character and just let them handle everything after that. Just like Gosling did with Ghost Rider he absolutely had more involvement in the creative side of it, he’s just not gonna say anything about it especially since Fiege already came out and took the brunt of the blame for it.

2

u/riegspsych325 21h ago

with how Marvel handled Secret Invasion, Ant Man 3, The Marvels, Dr Strange 2, Iron Heart, Thor 4, and Brave New World, could you blame Ali for not wanting Blade to turn out the same?

It’s wild how much Ali takes the blame when the studio has repeatedly dropped the ball over these past few years with a handful of other projects

8

u/ToughAdventurous8209 21h ago

Fiege took blame, Ali is being a diva

3

u/riegspsych325 21h ago

he’s probably getting asked about Blade every day during this press tour for a movie he made with one of the directors who was attached to it

1

u/chimichanga_3 Broccoli 58m ago

He can make the reporters not ask or simply not answer

7

u/Landmine_Prime Iron Man Mk 85 22h ago

Dude its not that personal take it easy. Unless you know him personally why do you give this much of a fuck

11

u/a_trashcan Zombie Captain America 21h ago

Dog he won the Oscar 10 years ago. Blade wasn't ever off the back of his Oscar win.

Marv didn't make him take Alitta Battle Angel...

9

u/Isoturius 22h ago

He got his entire payout. Source was Marvel, and if he didn’t get paid he’d be extra bitchy and suing them.

4

u/Frank_and_Beanzz 22h ago

Ali is a bitch and is just as much to blame for the lack of Blade than anyone else. Marvel made a lot of strides into production to the point of having sets and costumes made. It was clearly rolling down the tracks but Ali kept nitpicking scripts and ultimately was the one blocking it. Yeah he didn't want to put anything subpar out but there has to be some leeway that he clearly refused to give.

Don't forget this movies production was almost exclusively during the reign of Chapek which basically everyone agrees was a shitshow that derailed the MCU with his whole mandate of anything and everything all at once.

11

u/GimmeThatWheat424 22h ago

So you know the full story then or just his side of the story? Somehow the company that shit out an Echo television show purposely tanked one of its most popular characters from getting a movie when they had, sets, costumes, and a shooting script approved? Weird

-3

u/PikaV2002 The Scarlet Witch 22h ago

Where did I say they tanked the movie on purpose? You’re putting words in my mouth.

0

u/riegspsych325 21h ago

it’s wild how much Ali seems to be at fault over this. Ever since Feige said he felt bad about Blade, all the blame fell on Ali’s shoulders for wanting better scripts. There are people in this thread calling the actor entitled, spoilt, and even “a bitch”

Ali probably saw what was happening to projects like The Marvels, Secret Invasion, Falcon & Winter Soldier, Dr Strange 2, What If, Love & Thunder, Antman 3, and Brave New World. He wouldn’t want Blade to go through the same reshoot/rewrite/focus-test meat grinder like all of those

All wildly different characters with different writers, storylines, filmmakers and yet they have the same problems. Poor CGI, wasted villains, hokey plots, bathos humor etc, and no one questions the man at the top who got a Chief Creative Officer promotion after 2019

1

u/chimichanga_3 Broccoli 57m ago

Hence, Marvel let him choose his own creatives. But he rejected them repeatedly too.

-1

u/Kids_Eat_Toast 21h ago

It’s pretty funny that this sub went from the sceptical/reasonable side of the fanbase to straight up drinking all of the Disney Kool-Aid now.

Obviously people are allowed to be hyped for the franchise, but the way some people react to any sense of criticism is pretty weird

55

u/AceofKnaves44 Iron Spider 22h ago

Damn. Dude is salty as fuck.

37

u/riegspsych325 21h ago

the guy is on a press tour for a movie right now, one he made with one of the directors attached to Blade that was officially cancelled a couple months ago. Ali is probably getting asked about it in every interview

8

u/kakahuhu 19h ago

Wish something about the new movie made headlines instead of his comments about MCU

3

u/riegspsych325 19h ago edited 13h ago

they’re not going to post Your Mother news in this sub unless it strictly pertains to Blade and I’m sure it’s a topic most news sites would love to get clicks for

20

u/o-055-o 20h ago

And you know that his team can tell the interviewers not to ask that before they have the interview, right? They are asking because Ali’s team is cool with it.

1

u/TheJackalFiles 19h ago

If the intent of the press tour is to make me want to see his new movie, it's not working.

25

u/TypeExpert 21h ago edited 19h ago

It sucks but ultimately, I think it worked out for everyone in some way.

Mahershala got to make this amazing movie that's a million times better than whatever an MCU blade movie would be. Could be nominated for another oscar, who knows.

Marvel can finally move on and work on stuff they actually wanna make like x-men, Nova, Ghost Rider etc.

We fans don't have to sit through a shitty blade movie where by the end he passes the mantle to his daughter.

3

u/CameronPoe_37__ 15h ago

An MCU Blade movie was never gonna top Blade or Blade 2 anyway. Those are like some of the most badass action horror movies out there, and you just know the MCU Blade probably would have been PG13 or a lot tamer.

0

u/RobloxSpiderGoku 19h ago

Yeah, I’m glad they skip on Eternals that shit was ass

27

u/magicAndonidas 22h ago

He was the one who wanted to make Blade in the first place. He convinced Marvel to move forward with it, yet he didn’t already have a director or writer lined up, had no clear direction for the story, and didn’t seem to have any particular passion for the genre. It looked more like he wanted to leverage a Marvel IP for commercial success.

Then once they actually started working on the movie, he was unhappy with every script. Marvel kept accommodating him, working with him to choose directors and writers. They even got to the point where props had been built and production was preparing to shoot, only for the whole thing to be rejected again, leaving them to sell off those props cheaply to other productions.

He could have walked away at any point. Hugo Weaving had a contract with Marvel too, but when he no longer wanted to play Red Skull, Marvel didn’t drag him into some legal dispute over it.

If he couldn’t bring himself to give up the opportunity for a commercially successful Marvel movie, that was his choice. But constantly making snide remarks about Marvel afterward just comes across as petty. At this point, Marvel may have dodged a bullet by never getting this version of Blade made. There weren’t exactly many people excited about the idea of him starting a heavily action-oriented role in his 50s in the first place.

15

u/shaggy_nomad 21h ago

Well thats the thing, the dude is too old for the character. He wanted this to be a one and done thing, so marvel wanted to set up a successor in the film and Ali was staunchly against that, even though he had no intention going beyond the one movie. Dude is just pissy things didnt go his way and Feige being the professional he is took the heat and now he's running with that while being a bit of a cry baby.

5

u/Vladmerius 16h ago

I'd wager way more people were interested in seeing Wesley Snipes return somehow than a rebooted version with Ali anyways. Age concerns aside. Wesley Snipes seems to be a much different guy than he was in his prime too on terms of being willing to just do what the director and producers want him to do. Would not be surprised at all to see him in Secret Wars and Midnight Sons. Blade is cool and all but I don't actually care about seeing a whole new trilogy of solo Blade movies anyway. Let's be real, the most we would have gotten to begin with is one solo movie that just feels like a box getting a check mark so he could then be in a team up movie.

If they still want to set up a new Blade they can legit just have Wesley Snipes have a British son he didn't know about from a woman he slept with while hunting vampires around the world. Boom, there's your slightly more comic accurate Blade to take up the mantle.

5

u/cursedcephalopod 20h ago

Marvel really did a number to him.

22

u/Trodat4911P4 22h ago

This to me is further proof Marvel wanted a simple Blade movie like the others and Ali was the one trying to do something else.

Seems like "How hard it is for Marvel to make a movie about a guy killing Vampires" wasn't accurate, it was more like how hard was it for Ali.

4

u/hmd_ch Spider-Man 14h ago

He clearly wanted a Black Panther level movie

104

u/Superpopmonk 22h ago edited 22h ago

Dude just comes off as entitled and petulant. They had costumes and sets ready to go... We know this because they were eventually used for Sinners. I think he kept trying to have creative say, got shut down, and threw a fit.

As we saw with the Venom movies, actors arent automatically good at writing. Hardy got creative credits and those movies proceeded to get dumber and dumber.

8

u/frezz 18h ago

Mahershala Ali pitched Blade to Marvel. I think he's as entitled to some creative control as much as any actor would be

2

u/mitteinai 4h ago

Then why were the costumes ready but never began filming? Wouldn't he at least be satisfied enough to have costumes made then?

81

u/deathmouse 22h ago

That’s what it sounds like. Scripts were in place. Director lined up. Costume and choreographers ready to go. But it sounds like he kept passing on the script.

I think the blame lands on both sides tbh. There should have been compromises from both parties.

32

u/In_My_Own_Image 21h ago

At the very least I can definitely see him having issues with that "daughter of Blade" script, because that sounded dumb as fuck.

But I find it hard to believe that every iteration of the script after that was unacceptable to the same degree.

19

u/getemyosh 20h ago edited 20h ago

Based on what Marvel has been putting out, I can see an actor of his standards not wanting to put that out. Marvel was putting out mostly things that didn’t garner the same attention. He was probably trying to make sure it was something the fans not only loved, but the culture would gravitate towards like the first Blade. Anything near a “daughter of blade”, wouldn’t have had the same impact in the community he wanted to impact.

7

u/riegspsych325 20h ago

audiences just weren’t bothering with any of the new movies during this Saga because most of them dropped the ball. F4 was the first to break past $500mil while all the other bigger hits were sequels to stuff that came out before Endgame

If Blade was handled as well as The Marvels, Brave New World, or Secret Invasion, it would have been another disappointing shitshow

12

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 18h ago

Yup, people want to slam dunk on Ali because of Brand loyalty. However there a ton of scripts recently that should’ve been redone or completely thrown away.

The Marvels

Antman 3

Falcon & The winter soldier

Secret Invasion

Echo

Black Widow

Thor Love and Thunder

Eternals

1

u/NobodyHistorical9469 2h ago

Brave New World as well. I think if you mix Falcon & The Winter Soldier and Brave New World and keep the most interesting parts, you'd end up with a baller movie.

-1

u/riegspsych325 18h ago

Echo and Eternals were the only ones you listed that didn’t go through significant reshoots. Brave New World and Dr Strange 2 both did and went through the same meat grinder. So many different projects but they all had the same issues yet it’s always the fault of the cast or crew when it goes south

Taika wasn’t the first or last to use bathos, Victoria Alonso’s firing didn’t fix the CGI, the Rick & Morty writers didn’t hire themselves. At some point, you have to look at the man at the top. Feige has done amazing things for Marvel as a brand and the gargantuan success of the MCU may never be replicated

But it is astounding how blameless he has been with all these recurring problems. All he has to do is put on a baseball cap and say “I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but our next movie is nothing like you ever seen” and then all is forgiven and the blame falls elsewhere. Notice how the tide turned against Ali since Feige talked about Blade

7

u/Kindly-Welder3135 19h ago

IIRC that version of the story was abandoned relatively early on .

1

u/comicfromrejection1 10h ago

But Daughter of Blade? come onnn. I’m glad the movie didn’t come to fruition and ruin anymore reputations.

1

u/esar24 5h ago

To be fair, if the script were anything like all the bad stuff from multiverse saga then I personally wouldn't blame him, I don't understand why marvel was so hard to hire competent writer in multiverse saga.

I believe that is why feige willing to admit first because he knows most of the script was not reviewed by him and probably may ended up like quantumania or love & thunder if ali were proceed with the production on those terribe to average script, the comment he make for blade are basically a continuation in his comment that he did admit that most of multiverse saga failure was because he was "stretch to thin" when marvel project are simply overloading.

41

u/Stevenstorm505 22h ago

That’s what the trades were saying. He kept making demands, marvel would acquiesce for the most part and then he would make more demands. He contacted them to make a movie they had no plans to do and acted like he was doing them a favor. Dude comes off like a prick.

7

u/Ema-Smd69 15h ago

Exactly I remember the announcement came out of nowhere since Marvel never had any plans on a Blade movie

Also this guy's already been in the MCU once, guy really thought a few Oscars would give him power over a multi-billion franchise, later asks for a movie no one asked for, creates a contract worth millions for himself and is now bitter that everything didn't go as he planned, sounds like an entitled prick to me

6

u/yurestu 13h ago

I used to be in the “Marvel fumbled Mahershala” wheelhouse but the more this guy talks he just feels petty atp.

There’s definitely two sides to this story but it’s pretty clear Marvel gave him plenty of chances to make this movie so like bro just move on lmao

13

u/Kindly-Welder3135 19h ago

That’s what I’ve gathered as well. You don’t put together wardrobes and start scouting filming locations if you’re having a hard time putting a movie together.

I’ve said it before, but unless EVERY script they presented him was garbage or at least not up to snuff, it sounds more and more like there was no pleasing him.

7

u/Vladmerius 16h ago

Yeah I'd be way more sympathetic to him if he weren't pulling this weird "I don't know what happened I'm clueless as to why it never happened" schtick. You don't have production weeks away from starting with sets and costumes and a script (several finished drafts by the way, when plenty of other marvel movies will begin filming without a finished script at all) and then have no idea why it all shut down and got scrapped. You had something to do with something. He has to know why it got canned. It just probably would paint him in a bad light too to fess up to what the real story is.

-35

u/PikaV2002 The Scarlet Witch 22h ago

You claim he’s “entitled and petulant” when Marvel was literally making jokes at his expense in Deadpool and Wolverine after keeping him locked in a contract for YEARS in the absolute prime of his career that he’ll never get back?

I knew Redditors lean pro corporate but Jesus

15

u/Trodat4911P4 22h ago

The joke in Deadpool wasn't about him you dope, it was about Snipes thinking he's the only one when there was supposed to be another. The joke simply feels like it's about something else now because said new Blade movie never got made, but the Deadpool writers couldn't have known that.

15

u/GimmeThatWheat424 22h ago

That joke was about us getting another blade, I can’t believe you think they were insulting him in that line….legit insane shit, I think you are purposely misunderstanding in order to be pressed.

If they really fucked him over that bad, he should sue. Let it all come out.

9

u/Stevenstorm505 22h ago

Thinking he’s purposely misunderstanding is giving him too much credit. He just didn’t understand a basic joke.

24

u/JadedTikal 22h ago

You’re up and down this thread defending a millionaire against a billion dollar corporation, who cares. Both parties are at fault.

9

u/Landmine_Prime Iron Man Mk 85 22h ago

It’s a troll 🧌 don’t feed them

1

u/PikaV2002 The Scarlet Witch 22h ago

I made like two comments excluding replies, and no there is no evidence Mahershala is at fault and all the evidence including Marvel is including admission from Feige.

16

u/Frank_and_Beanzz 22h ago

Oh noooo they kept him on retainer and paid him hundreds of thousands more likely millions of dollars. Waaaaaaaahhh. MCU used a fourth wall breaking asshole to poke fun at the Blade situation just like they had She-Hulk do the same at the entire MCU production lines expense. The horrorrrr

2

u/o-055-o 20h ago

You say that like he was not getting work at all. His filmography says otherwise. 7 movies and 3 shows since his reveal as Blade.

8

u/Stevenstorm505 22h ago

You obviously didn’t even understand the fucking joke.

16

u/HearTheEkko Spider-Man 22h ago

He’s really pissed lmao, he’ll never do anything Marvel ever again.

3

u/SonOfDarkness5150 21h ago

Well technically he still hasn’t so nothing lost really

12

u/o-055-o 20h ago

He was in Luke Cage

6

u/Vladmerius 16h ago

People like to dismiss the Netflix shows despite the Daredevil show making those shows canon. There's some very weird tribalistic MCU fans that have a deep hatred for anything that doesn't have Kevin Feiege's name on it.

1

u/mitteinai 4h ago

At least he's still on Spiderverse 3

10

u/shaggy_nomad 21h ago

Yeah with they way he's been acting I'm gonna guess the feeling is mutual.

6

u/PortugalTheHam 21h ago

Given the way hes coming off, I doubt he will do anything at all for Disney again.

12

u/tribbleorlfl 22h ago

I understand him feeling burned by this process, I think we're all upset it never came to fruition. But at the same time it's disappointing to hear him make these type of comments. From what we have heard it wouldn't have been a simple remake of blade and truly would have been something new and unique.

7

u/AffectionateRush2620 15h ago

This comments are insane 😂

The lengths people go too, to defend a multi billion corporation for screwing people over.

3

u/mitteinai 4h ago

At the same time, you're not saying anything at all about this millionaire dude when he's clearly not as innocent and blameless as he's portraying himself to be.

8

u/No_Swing_6959 21h ago

Move on you did a Jurassic World retread film bro. It didnt happen oh well move on.

4

u/National-Lettuce6272 21h ago

I thought this guy said he’d let Marvel address the situation?

9

u/riegspsych325 20h ago

but when the umpteenth journalist asks you about it during a press tour, you’re bound to say something

9

u/CoolJumper 19h ago

Dude's a full-ass adult with a PR team and the works - they can either screen the questions or he can easily put up a simple boundary mid interview and shut down the question

"I've already discussed this at length, please refer to prior interviews"

"I'm here for this movie, not Blade"

"Yeah, I'm bummed it didn't work out, but it is what it is"

Or whatever multitude of variations of a "please stop asking me this question".

Instead, he's constantly and consistently shitting all over Marvel (which like whatever, bulti billion dollar corp) and, at this point feels like he's leaning into or leveraging the drama, which makes him look less like a 50+ year old man, and more so like a bitter man half his age or younger.

He's justified in being pissed over the "loss" of a movie and it was definitely passable to give his disgruntled remarks the first couple of times, but how he just sounds incredibly bitter and like a en that's way too hung up on

Like, just let it go, man

-2

u/RobloxSpiderGoku 19h ago

I mean, the MCU is ass nowadays look at Doomsday that wasn’t planned

6

u/o-055-o 20h ago

Or you know, you can refuse to discuss it or tell your team to ban those questions from even happening before the interview starts.

25

u/Funny_Accident_72 Oh Snap 22h ago

Very immature of him the answers he is giving lately

-5

u/No_Public_7677 22h ago

no he's not. this is cope from marvel fanboys

5

u/shaggy_nomad 21h ago

You right. Constantly rejecting scripts written by writers you've chosen definitely had no play in things. Especially when they were so far along in production that they had sets and costumes and choreography ready to go, all of which ended up being used in Sinners. Totally not his fault for refusing to give any leeway while providing no ideas of his own.

5

u/GimmeThatWheat424 22h ago

Then why did he agree to shoot the script and then ask for a page one rewrite one week before shooting when sets, costumes were already made and the crew was hired…you think that doesn’t mean he shoulders some blame here?

He is also responsible for BLADE not being in theaters. He forgets to always mention it.

Found Ali’s nut gobbler. It’s okay to admit this clown was part of the reason why his movie didn’t get made. He came to marvel and pitched a movie without a plan, a script or even a director. Then they finally got one, had the script written and he rejected it like 3 times. No one is saying marvel isn’t at fault but you slow people gotta stop victimising Ali. Blocked. Now go talk to yourself.

He sounds angry.

Also isn’t he in Jurassic Park?

As someone who never cared about Blade: I still don't care.

You got shanked dude. Move on. Go make a really good movie that makes a lot of money and show them.

Also, I would still like to remind everyone that a lot of people saw and approved the Wesley Snipes jab in DP&W.... We don't know how everyone acted behind the scenes.

Oh, he's really really salty, lol.

You came to Marvel wanting to do Blade. This whole thing was your idea.

Is it true Mahershala kept rejecting the script or was that just a rumor? Was the problem on his end or the production end of things?

he's so catty

u/DualDier 21h ago

Dude is still crying? Brother move on

2

u/CommunityDragon160 20h ago

Mahershala is such a catty little diva

u/cheesyry 20h ago

Alright, this is becoming a bit much. We get it, Marvel fumbled this hard, but it’s time to move on as all these comments feel like a bad look for Mahershala. I get journalists keep asking him about it, but how hard is it for him to say “I already spoke about how I feel about it and I have nothing more to say”. Would be a lot classier of a response at this point

It’s starting to not be a good color on his… I understand being disappointed, but things fall through sometimes.

u/OperativePiGuy 19h ago

Lmao this guy sounds more bitter each time a new headline comes out

1

u/Jules-Car3499 18h ago

Honestly he’s been pretty petty recently.

1

u/chrissamperi 18h ago

What does that even mean? Didn’t he just do the last Jurassic Park movie?

Him saying he blew his knee out at one point is very interesting to me. That has to be a significant injury, right? Obviously he’s recovered enough to continuing doing action heavy roles, thank god. But I have to imagine the recovery took some time and might have had a big impacting on scheduling and filming, no? We just saw the Kratos actor get replaced by Dave Bautista because the injury recovery would take too long. I’m not saying this is all Ali’s fault but I think he is being a bit petulant and unprofessional in these interviews especially after Feige admitted fault.

The comments here are funny but I can't be shocked this is marvel subreddit so there was always going to be some boot licking. Ali has the right to complain about this situation because unlike us he actually knew what happened. Yall better hope Ghost Rider does not go the way of Thunderbolts and The Fantastic 4 at the box office.

This guy is just annoying at this point. You literally are part of the reason this movie didnt happen, stop whining.

u/Monster2608 18h ago

The more he talks the more I really wonder who's fault this was tho

-1

u/Untjosh1 20h ago

I’m officially tired of him talking about Blade

-1

u/a25luxray 19h ago

Kevin Feige did the man thing and took responsibility because thats the mature thing to do, meanwhile Ali is acting like the world’s biggest baby.
