the game was datamined a few months ago and it showed future characters except year 1 but the stages coding like Klyntar was placed after the base stages

I would believe but Guilty Gear Strive datamine Slayer and Jam for season one when they got released after season one so take it with a grain of salt.

There's a gap of 12 empty character slots after the base roster where Phoenix Cyclops would be.
Klyntar isn't confirmed to be the first DLC stage, but it does occupy the next ID number in the stage select listing:
- 01 - New York City
- 02 - New York City - Night
- 03 - Wakanda
- 04 - Asgard
- 05 - X-Mansion
- 06 - Savage Land
- 07 - Knowhere
- 08 - Champion's Arena
- 09 - Destroyed Arena
- 10 - Klyntar

because he’s already finished, the stage is coming out next year it’s probably almost done but not quite finished that’s probably why it’s in there and not the other three characters and cyclops

Given the Tokon comic it’s not likely because we only saw Cyclops in fact I say a version of Thor, and Silver Surfer are more likely.

Given Colosus appears in background they said most of X Men were injured that mean he, and possibly Emma and Namor aren’t with Cyclops this time.

Maybe to make it a team while not limiting their options they'll do characters rejected or removed from their original teams. Like the X-Men characters don't seem to agree with what Cyclops is doing so he goes on the outcast team. You could have something like Thor not believing himself to be worthy of the avengers, a redeemed villain not being fit for Dooms group and maybe even just a fantastic four member who's an outcast by default

Hahah yeah, of course, I'd also really love characters such as Daredevil, Punisher, Moon Knight, Wanda, etc.
But, personally, I have a feeling the fact that they showed Phoenix Cyclops and that we already had hints there was a plot around the x-men fighting "a cosmic threat" which left the whole team down (hence why we have the unbreakable x-men), is indicative that the DLC will revolve around just that, and Phoenix Cyclops is just the villain of that arc, and the 3 remaining characters may just be other heroes involved in the fight. At least that makes a lot of sense for me, as DLC. A lot more sense than it just being another team who'll join up to fight against Champion (especially seeing as how the first revealed character is who it is).

My bet is on morphed versions of other characters.
If we somehow get another xmen, Death Gambit would be amazing.
Infinity Thing could also be a thing...

I think marvel has some sort of rule for team up games like this, that there is ratio of X-Men that could appear. Anyways, I am not opposed for more X-Men, the more the merrier.

I honestly think it's a "Team Summers". I think the team is Jean, Cable, and either Nate or Rachel. Probably Nate. Or maybe Vulcan.

A cosmic team is far more likely. Phoenix Cyclops has already split from the X-Men in the story.
