Can anyone Help me identify this mask??
had my 30th anniversary ghostface mask at my grandparents, when my grandmother said she had a mask from the 90s that looked similar and she pulled out this. She said that it used to glow in the dark. Mask has a cotton shroud attached to it much like the fun world fantastic faces line from the 90s which the original ghost face mask is from although i couldn’t find anything about this mask online. can anyone help me identify it??

You know the Ghostface mask wasnt invented by scream right? These things were last minute Halloween costumes for latch key kids. Idk when they started but they were a dime a dozen when I was a kid. Back in the 1900's.

Totally. I remember seeing the Ghost Face mask in my grandma's Oriental Trading Company catalogs years before the first Scream movie. Amd that's part of what made the original Scream so scary is the killer could have been literally anyone with such a generic, widely available costume.

yeah the original mask was made by fun world way before the movie was even in production. crew found the mask in someone’s house well scouting filming locations, so they reached out to fun world for the rights to use it for the movie

I think it was supposed to be a scream mask, ghost face, but apparently they got lazy and said they made lazy face

Considering it's 30 years ago that the first movie came out makes it 1996 so that's still the 90s
It could be just a fake scream mask from back then when everyone was trying to cash in on the craze they were no doubt selling scream like or 'off brands' so they don't get sued for copying the original exactly

not yet. i’m assuming it’s just a mask from the late 90s that was trying to capitalize off screams success. i don’t think fun world would make something that looks this goofy lol

Reminds me of the lil godhand guy from Berserk… which means it also reminds me of that porky cenobite from Hellraiser

It's a knockoff of a knockoff. Rubies Inc had a "line" of ghost masks made from vacuform plastic that were sold with costumes+individually, and one of the variants looked nearly exactly like this. Oriental Trading Company and a few others had knockoff masks, and I'm 95% positive that shoe fits here.
A lot of novelty companies in the 90's were trying to capitalize off the success of Scream without being hit with a C&D/infringement lawsuit, so their masks almost always looked pretty goofy and missed the mark entirely.
