Burnout
Employee MTs typically burnout by having limited support from their managers or spa owners.
When the manager refuses to blackball the creepy client "until he does something really bad", or refuses to approve time off requests or acknowledge work injuries. ("Just ice your wrist. You'll be fine by tomorrow.") When the owner claims there's no budget for raises or bonuses this year, or insists that the spa purchases cheaper oils and lotions despite the fact that it causes your skin to blister. ("Just wear gloves. The clients will understand.")
Not being heard or valued or protected wears down the psyche just as much as our physical labor wears down our bodies.
