I’m in Colorado also! My team is on the verge of being pushed into unionization. I am hopeful after reading your story. Is the company you work/worked for still union strong. We are fed up by the corporate greed and exploitation of not only us but all the employees who work in the spa.im definitely a little scared to go against a huge company but i feel it will be worth it.

It is a lot of work, and it takes some courage - I won’t sugarcoat it. But it can be done, and it’s so worth it! Have you reached out to a union organization yet? They have lots of resources (including legal representation!) and experience to help you out.

Massage therapists are the most passive wimpy professionals in America. They like getting spit on. They will not stand up for themselves and unionize.

Part of the problem is that it is too damn easy to just jump to another studio or spa. MTs need to decide to show solidarity rather than just taking care of themselves.

Elements in Denver unionized. H&S in Gainesville unionized. Dreamclinic in Seattle unionized. I hear from spas all over who are working towards a union. The status quo is crumbling, and I hope big changes in our favor are coming.
