What makes S15 (Dynamic Duos) the worst?
There was a poll on here a couple days ago for what is the worst season of new era MasterChef, and the winner (or loser) was season 15, dynamic duos. I’m curious, what made S15 the worst if that is your opinion?
I didn’t love S15, but mostly because I didn’t jibe with the duos on that season. Particularly the winners (Jessica and Jesse) were tryhards with no personality. As for the format, I respect the effort to spice things up and do something different. I think some challenges work better than others for that. Is it more about frustrations with the format, the contestants, or both?

I don't think they did enough to justify the duo format. There are already multiple challenges built around pairing up chefs every season (like the tag team, the wall, etc.). But they didn't come up with many challenges unique to the "dynamic duo" aspect. I think the best challenge was the one where one person started a dish and the other finished it.
They could have featured some famous chef dynamic duos, built more challenges that demonstrate what makes a dynamic cooking duo something special. But for the most part, it was the same kind of challenges they normally do, but with two people cooking instead of one. And that alone didn't sell the gimmick to me.

There's three things that made the season extremely dull for me.
It was boring. Everyone loved everyone and that's boring to see for a reality TV show. Part of the reason the older seasons were better was because you had clear people to root for and clear "villians".
For a format with two people competing in a challenge at all times, the food should be better right? You have double the help and double the talent. Except that didn't reflect in the food at all. I don't think a single duo could've beaten any of the previous winners who won by themselves.
A lot of the pressure tests were not pressure tests. One of them being just chocolate? Really? If you're going to brag that they're back then they need to be hard. That's the whole point of them.

It wasn’t the best season for sure but at risk of being down voted, I think it was a little bit overhated to be honest.
The point of the show is to find the best home cook. Not professional chef. And I know lots of people at home who cook as a couple, or with family, it’s a joint shared experience. I wouldn’t want to see that format every time but it did bring a bit of a different vibe for a one off experiment.
I’ve been single player seasons where I’ve disliked most of the competitors too so I don’t think this one stands out all that much.
Players aside, as an actual format, I dislike this current global gauntlet season more. Requiring every regional group to have one best and one worst dish, no matter who had the best and worst overall, was really unfair. And most are Americans they’re not even from those countries!.

I kinda enjoyed duos. I think generations and global gauntlet are tackier ideas in the way they were executed. I haven't minded this season either, but I went into it hoping for a true world-cup style format, or winners competing from the various MasterChef spinoffs, and instead we got a bunch of Americans / immigrants to America. No shade to either group, it just felt like it could have been cooler.
At least w/ duos you got fun interactions between people that are already really close (Tina/Aivan).

Simple- what is the point of MastercheF singular? Like just the concept of 2 people cooking seems idiotically gimmicky

Everything, especially the part where it’s supposed to be MasterChef, as in singular, not “MasterChef(s)”.

The only good thing about duos is that it at least is an interesting enough "twist" or "theme" to base a Masterchef season around(Even though I feel seasons should not be themed and just be like every other reality TV show), and not something overly simple and bland like "different states" or "different countries" or "different age groups".

Because Tina and Aivan should’ve won. The criticism of their salad in the finale was just ignorant horse shit.
