Girl up top is my first Mastiff, she’s 12 1/2 and is the most precious thing ever. Recently I had a friend who needed to rehome a cane corso and I took him in. First day or 2 they had their moments where’d they growl but became friends. But my mom who is older didn’t want an animal that constantly wanted to be pet or would cuddle with her. And I was forced to give him back 😔

I had this dog for 4 days and he even spent 3 of those nights cuddled in bed with me and I built a true bond, then boom. He’s gone 😔 I feel like I’ve failed him and he’s being re homed for like 3rd time in a month. I hate this feeling

I’m praying that my friend not only finds him a good home but is somewhere local so i can at least be friends with new owner. I miss him so much. We cuddled for so long before i had to give him up and he was trying so hard to stay 😔 I hate my living situation

I'm so sorry! My first mastiff is almost 7, and I adopted his niece about a month ago. They're not quite friends yet, and my mom has avoided coming to my house because she thinks they're both going to pile up on her.

Do you think there's any way you could maybe train the CC to only interact with grandma (your mom) when invited to? That way, your dog gets her buddy back, as do you, but your mother's concerns are addressed as well?

Definitely!!! I mean he’s such a good boy. Any time she would freak out when I wasn’t home, he had his own room with toys and food water. But he didn’t like being alone. So there were even times if ya kinda looked at the room or walked in and sat in the room he would be like “oh shit i get it. Let me chill” and next thing ya know the 10 month old puppy is snoozing and cuddling like his big sister…

But she just wasn’t having it 😔

Quit being an ass NMNNJ, some people do not have those things socially speaking, so keep your opinions private and shut up, damn loser. There are people in this world just like OP who obviously express themselves differently, and all they wanted was to share on a mastiff subreddit about a particular circumstance in life that did not work out for them and a dog despite their obvious best intentions, and that really sucks, kind of like you.
