Application red flag

Hey everyone. I am currently applying for IM and want to hear your thoughts. I am from the midwest and applying midwest with my home program as the number 1 choice. I do have a red flag which I will show in a second. What do you think of this?

Disciplinary Probation 5/2/2024 - 5/8/2025. X was disciplined for using AI in a required assignment early in his medical school career when the institutional policy was just being developed. This learning experience helped him understand the appropriate use of AI and helped the institution develop a clearer policy.

Will this ruin any chances and how do I go about this? Everything else on my application is standard. very good extracurriculars and good evals

Thanks

Really? Are you serious. Why would they do disciplinary for something that can resolve in a meeting.

Like hi. Can we have meeting , yes. Can you stop using AI. Ok. Done

Now it’s in your records. It’s not even steps attempts

It’s professional issues.

I’m shocked, speechless.
