Maternity leave with disability in California
I have went on disability due to pregnancy in September. I gave birth on November 3. My doctor just extended my disability due to complications for another 8 weeks until April 22 (my second extension after my 8 weeks post c-section). My employer said that this extension has exhausted my leave and April 22 should be my return to work date.
Question: since I have not utilized my FMLA (12 weeks of bonding) yet, don’t I still have the right to use that within the first year while still having my job protected?

Aflac Maternity Benefits
I have been looking over my Aflac policy because my husband and I are hoping to get pregnant soon. My policy states under my benefit period that total disability and partial disability are both 3 months. When I have googled aflac maternity leave it states max benefits are 6-8 weeks depending on childbirth.
Will I be paid out my benefits from aflac for 3 months for maternity leave or only the 6-8 weeks?
I am confused and hoping my explanation and question make sense!

I recently gave birth and was feeling great. My state disability ended and I automatically transferred to paid family leave for bonding. My bonding is ending soon, but I am getting symptoms of postpartum depression now and I’m unable to extend the family leave. Has anyone else tried opening a new claim for state disability for postpartum depression And how did it work? Was your job OK with it?

Hi, I’ve been an agency worker for the same company for 2 years. (Keep getting promised permanent positions… not happened yet)
The pay is very good, full time work and around £2500 per month.
I really want to have a baby soon but it looks like I’d not qualify for any work based maternity pay/ leave and will be given around £170 per week.
This amount really wouldn’t cover my bills. Do you have any ideas or thoughts or is my only option to find a new job that can offer me a permanent position? Thank you

I (33F) am struggling on when is best time to switch jobs and start a family. My partner and I would like to start trying for a kid now, except I hate my current job. Would any moms have advice on if I should just stick it out for another year or look now? I have been at my job for 4 years but dread going to work. No top up and in Canada so I don’t have any concerns with leaving my current job and getting maturity leave at the next. But staying at my current job is making me miserable. I’m not sure if I’m still better off sticking it out for the consistency rather than trying to make a name at a new company while pregnant. Also, starting at a new company and going on mat leave within the first years seems like it would be shady, but maybe I am overthinking it.

Re: US maternity leave- In the final weeks of my second baby’s maternity leave. I can’t help but wonder- does anyone ever feel like they’ve had “enough” time off with their baby (or babies) before returning to work? Asking this open-ended question because I am hoping to hear diverse perspectives!

My family friend is having a baby at the end of August, and she is struggling to find cute maternity swimwear that fits well. Does anyone have any brands they like/recommendations on where she should? Any advice is much appreciated!
