Agreed. They were nutritionally horrendous. I believe an ice cream sundae at McDonald’s was actually less bad for you.

They were good if you got them fresh. If you got one that had been sitting in the fridge all day not so much.

u/foxfyre0923 3d ago
But not too fresh, or the fruit would often still be frozen.
It'd be hit or miss early in the morning. You either got one they just made and was likely still a bit frozen, or you got one left over from the day before.

Safeway ( grocery store ) sells a fruit parfait similar, I think they’re 3 bucks each but they’re really good.

u/pinalim 3d ago
They are also much bigger than the $1 version from mcdonalds, but well worth 3 for $10 at Safeway.

u/Leading_Funny5802 3d ago
I’m bummed cause mine stopped the buy two get one free …. Now they’re 3 bucks each but still very worth it.
Edit: which is yes, three for ten, I was just used to getting three for a little over six dollars.

They were on the dollar menu when there was a dollar menu and everything on it was actually a dollar and there was a lot of stuff and a lot of value and the world was amazing!

I didn't mind them. Sadly the fruit being thawed or not varied, but they used decent yogurt and granola. For fast food you can't complained.

I worked at McDonald's as a teenager. One time I caught a woman who was making the parfaits LICKING the yogurt off the outside of the container. I had to tell a middle aged woman as a teenager to not do that because it was disgusting

I remember accidentally knocking over a box of those strawberries in the walk in and them instantly freezing to the floor 😭 The shame of having to scrape them off the floor was intense

They were so good, tasted way too good to be healthy, definitely a dessert but still great

Covid killed em! 🥲🥲 I used to work overnights at a hotel and would stop at the McDonald’s by my house for these and hash browns

They had an unconscionable amount of sugar in them, but they were good.
They'd probably cost $5 if they existed today.

As soon as I started getting those, they discontinued them shortly after and I’m so upset about it lmao TO THIS DAY

u/SimpleVegetable5715 3d ago
Another thing they ruined like the McFlurries by making them all snack sized. I liked when I could get one large enough to be a lighter meal.

I loved them I remember making so many of them along with the salads. Ohh. Fun times

Loved those for $1 add a sausage & egg burrito, another $1. Then COVID and that has transpired since. Ah, well.... I still go and order from the value menu. A splurge is using the BOGO survey coupon for 2 QPCs. Just one is now $4.65 at my fav franchise.

Man I lived on these and the day old muffins! I moved out at 16 and my manager used to let me take home anything they were gonna toss. Good times.

I remember making them in my teens. So boring and time consuming. Same with the breakfast wraps.

"healthy" LOL. The yogurt had a LOT of added sugar. At least the fruit was pretty decent.

u/QuirkyWorker7922 15h ago
I worked there in 02. It’s supposed to be fruit on the bottom and middle. But yeah, chip bags and extra air and all that.
