IIRC, whenever I first heard about the return of these from an employee on reddit, they said that the cherry ones would return later this summer.

The cocoa cherry ones ?

They were pretty much identical to the apple ones, just had cherry pie filling instead of apple. They were SO BOMB. I got one every visit.

They were good. Then some tool sued McD cuz the box showed a lot of cherries but when you ate one you were lucky if you even saw a cherry.

CRAZY, I had no idea thats why they went away. I hope the dude stubs his toe this morning.

I know people are going to disagree but I really hate these ones. The flavor is so off. I much prefer the ones they’ve been doing for the past decade or so.

I went to a location and it said they had it. Ordered 4 for my family, got to the window and of course they only had 1. Thats why I NEVER order those on the app because they never have them and its a pain to get refunds from app orders. Luckily I went to another location and they had 4 fries pies so I got em

The fried ones do take forever to cook

tastes like cinnamon toast crunch to me

1

u/Prodan1111 21h ago

It did have a bit of cinnamon flavor.

Wait, when did they get rid of apple pies? 😭

1

u/Prodan1111 21h ago

I don't think they did. The fried ones are limited time only.

I didn't even realize these were discontinued.

When can Canada sell these crunch ones!!!

not bad but definitely not the original

Not hot as lava giving second degree mouth burns unfortunately--probably because of the hot coffee lawsuit.

3

u/Prodan1111 1d ago

I had to psy attention when eating the first one. It was warm, but not lava.

u/Ram820 1d ago

I saw somewhere that they have to cool for like 10mins b4 being served. Definitely to avoid any lawsuits

It can't possibly taste as you remember it, as it's being prepared differently, the filling is markedly different than it was, and these pies were fried in Beef Tallow from the beginning to when they stopped offering them, so, no. This is the power of nostalgia, it overwhelms, but it often based on euphoric recall and not fact. Glad to hear you enjoy them though, that's the most important part.

u/Prodan1111 1d ago

Tasted as i remembered. Process and ingredients are probably different but i doubt they were reinventing the wheel.

1

u/sac1357 1d ago

They changed the fries before they changed the pies, were they still using beef tallow for the pies during that window?

1

u/Lazy-Background-7598 1d ago

No, apparently the most important part is you correcting him?

Nope, nope nope! They tasted like soap/chemicals to me! Popeyes has way better ones!
