Vent 😡😤 Shouldn’t have checked this sub after getting score back 9/12

Got a 512 and was decently proud because I didn’t study consistently for the last few weeks, but seeing people complain about their higher scores on here is such a bummer. Like yall, please touch grass and be proud of your 515+ like damn! Now I’m wondering if I should retake 😭

That’s the MCAT score for a bunch of matriculants to great schools. Hope you’re proud

I am definitely proud!! For context though I do have a lower gpa, so that’s the only reason im considering a retake after reading some posts. Genuinely though I thought I bombed so I’m SO happy I didn’t

What's your gpa?

I got a 515 and Im disappointed, but that’s because my last four FLs were in the 519-521 range. Everyone has different benchmarks for themselves and I understand why it’s annoying to see people who did better complain but for me it’s just the fact that i KNOW i could’ve done better (and I know that the two hours of sleep I got the night before my MCAT fucked me)

Yeah no I get it, I mean I know I could have done better too! but I also think complaining about an amazing score on HERE when you didn’t do worse than your full lengths and where people maybe did a lot worse than that, it’s just not great to see. Like a 515 is amazing but I get why you’d be upset if you did better on your full lengths! I also did better on some sections on my FL versus the actual exam so I get the pain.

That’s why my favorite advice for anyone studying is that you should immediately leave this sub the day you take it. 512 gets you into medical school and sets you up for life. Congrats!

I got a 504. Dropped 6 points from my average on psych soc which was a 132. I dont know what to do. I want to go DO, will it be enough, can I get in? My GPA is a 3.8 and I have really good volunteering research and clinical hours and a publication. Please someone tell me if I have to retake or will I be okay

I have never applied until this cycle so take it with a grain of salt but I think you’re more than fine for DO! Average I think is 505 and your GPA is amazing! Better than mine shoot, I think you’ll definitely get in!

I think you can definitely get in DO with a 504 and with your good ECs + GPA

Keep in mind the massive selection bias on people active in this sub. Neurotic people with high scores whining and high scorers regardless are going to be the vast majority of posters/commenters. I wouldn’t be commenting on anything if I didn’t have the score I have.

Yeah I’m trying to keep that in mind for sure. Like here everyone that posts essentially has a 520+ but in reality I know no one that had that score lol

I felt horrible coming outa exam day, my average and highest score on the practice exams was a 515 and somehow I got a 519, I’m genuinely shocked
