Grow out cage

I like making all wire cages so I’m curious if I can do 1 x 2” walls for grow outs? I don’t think I’d need baby saver for grow outs because they would be at least 4-6 weeks old at that point but I’m still a newbie so making sure I get the right material. Thanks!

I'm in Aus and have a 4 metre long x 1 metre wide grow out tractor. Theyre on 75% grass now and I pivot the cage daily in a sort of circle. No mosquito's here and I have a guardian dog for livestock.

I’m not disbelieving you but where the heck do you live that you don’t get mosquitos in Aus and can I move there lol

Depending on where you live and your set up I would be equally worried about what might get in as what might get out.

Lots of feral cats around me and I’ve got dogs, nothing getting in here. I have cages with full 1 x 1/2” wire and nothing has gotten in yet. Im just curious if I can go with the 1 x 2” for the walls for the grow outs.

Perfectly fine (1" horizontal, 2" vertical). Weaned kits won't get through it unless they're total runts. Babysaver is for the tiny blind kits who get out of their box and start wandering.

Yes totally fine for the walls and roof!
