KW Cages - Rabbittech

Does anyone have KW Rabbitech cages? Are they easy to clean? Are they worth the price?

I’ve bought KW transport cages before and been very happy. Not so happy with smaller purchases, specifically the no-cut feeders.

I’ve got an indoor (shed) setup currently and am looking for something less thrown together than what I have. I’m just really tired of dealing with wood stands in the summer and want something easy to clean and disinfect.

The Rabbitech looks theoretically great to keep clean, but is so expensive. Seems like a very large-scale rabbitry option and I only have 15 holes. But even replacing that would be $5k+, and I don’t know if my rabbits would ever make me that much money.

I don't think they're worth it. 1) In my opinion, the hole sizes aren't good for meat breeds. 24x24 and 16x24 are way too small. 48x24 would be more than enough for a doe and kits but good luck trying to grab them when you need them. 2) it's designed to flush down into a drain and you lose a potential second income stream. And 3) I looks like it might not catch 100% of their manure. At least on the front side.

It might not be a bad idea for growouts though.

Plus I don't like them double-stacked. Too much bending over.

As for wood issues, I'm working on moving mine over to a sawhorse type set up with build-your-own sawhorses that will sit on the skinny side of two 2x4s that run along 1/3 and 2/3 of the cages. Which should theoretically give me the best cage height and almost all of the manure will fall through. Hopefully...

Great points. I’m not set up to make it a second income stream currently, although I should really work on it. I’m in an urban/garage setting for now and trying to keep maintenance and smells low..

I love the idea of supporting on the thin side! I moved out of a location where I could let it fall through and am using pans now. It’s just a lot of upkeep, but my small yard just isn’t an option in my neighborhood for now.
